Sad news for many Lotus employees. However it was clear that some significant steps were needed to keep the company viable. The positive aspect is that sales are growing and they now have a practical marketing plan for more dealers. No surprise that new models are on hold. It’s true that current range still has a life and hopefully with individual product managers they will look ahead to future replacements.
That article actually warms the heart, it’s a plan I can see them executing and it’d love to see a halfway house between the evora and exige as a new model.
Its actually good to see what appears to be a pragmatic realist at the helm, someone that has identified what’s important to turn things around and make Lotus a viable business. Nobody wants to hear about job-cuts etc but overall I thought the narrative is overwhelming positive.
I’d really love to spec and buy a new Lotus one day,…but that day will be a long long long way away. Reading that article though I get the sense that Lotus may actually still be around at the point where I’m in the position to be frivolous and order yet another car.
