Lotus 2-eleven in 4th gear 30-50mph in 3.1s

Hello guys!

As the title sais, I was wondering if anyone knew where this exact quote came from? Found it on moremonkey.com, so perhaps Frank would be the guy to ask…

In anycase, I think this figures makes for quite some intersting talk as it is quite an impressive figure (if true)!

In 4th gear, that would make it around 2250 rpm - 3600 rpm.

How does this compare to other cars? Anyone want to messure the time?

Cheers Phil

Std Exige = 4.5
Cayman S = 4.4
Noble M12 3R = 2.9
Caterham CSR260 = 2.8

OK, so it’s not from 30mph but can’t resist posting this acceleration vid from my CL65…

Thats awesome. My future father-in-law has a new CL63 coming soon, which should be similar (if not faster?) than the 65 - I look forward to taking it for a “test drive”

What kind of power and torque is that machine Dave ?

The CL63 is normally aspirated V8 with 518 bhp and 465 lb/ft torque. Pretty good power from an N/A engine.

The CL65 is a bi-turbo V12 with 612bhp and 738 lb/ft of torque (restricted). Uncorked it’s good for 640bhp and 830 lb/ft+ … and if you’ve got the balls after that, you can then tune it. The torque is something else. I’ve never accelerated so hard over 100mph without subsequently taking off.

Are you taking new CL65? Yum yum.

Interesting times, thanks!
I’m quite surprised by the time of a standard Exige though - especially compared to a Cayman-S. Considering how little low end torque it has, I would have thought it wouldn’t stand all that well.

Any times for 240R or Exige-S?
