'Twas a good day at Silverstone, especially race 2 which saw a three way battle for the lead between Walshy, Sean and Randy; fantastic to watch into the Abbey hairpin (International circuit) with good close racing for several laps. Eventually Walshy went stright on here, and was lucky to get out of the gravel with a push from the marshals, while Randy and Sean went on until Randy lost his turbo shaft pully leaving Sean to take a fine, hard fought until that point, win. Gav was second. Rus finsished the second race OK after failing the weight test after the first race because the undertray had a 20kg of gravel in it! He says a big boy did it and knocked hom off!
Abbey is the place to watch on this circuit!
Agreed - top day
Great to meet up with so many folk from here, watch some superb racing (ta for taking us to Abbey gto spectate, cousin Mike), & have a laugh into the bargain
Should make for some good TV too
The 3-way battle for the lead.

Still can’t quite believe I beat the two big boys yesterday. The first 10 - 11 laps when the three of us were running together (before Walshy sucumbed to the pressure and binned it lol ) was the best driving experiance of my life!!!
To be honest before the race started I kind of thought it would end up as a replay of the first race, so after chatting with John we made quite a few adjustments to the dampers in a hope of getting the car to ride the bumps better. What a difference it made, I could keep up!!! Randy even said after the race that my car was better through Copse than his was!!
I had to take a bit of avoiding action when Walshy spun which lost me about 5 car lengths to Randy, but we were into the back markers by now and I managed to catch back up again, before Randy suddenly slowed on the next lap. The last two laps were the longest of my life. I didn’t know how far back Walshy was, so was still trying to go as quickly as possible without binning it. When the chequered flag came out, I was over the moon, I couldn’t believe it. In fact after spending the whole of the pit straight shouting and screaming in the car, I nearly hit Russ at the first corner. Sorry mate!!
Car ran mint all weekend. We changed a gearbox oil seal inbetween the two races as it was weeping slightly just as a precaution, but that was it. It didn’t even use that much fuel, only 21 litres in 20 minutes.
Sean
Hope you know who has sent to his congratulations on an excellent result, & first class preperation.
Watching from Abbey was spellbinding - seeing the 3 of you battling it out was the best bit of racing I can remember seeing for ages & ages, & that was backed up by the racing action following on behind. The Racing Sod put in a great performance too, being the quickest of the lardy S2 Elises, with just a tad of showboating thrown in to please the crowds
Top result well done.
Was there while you were were working on the car but saw you were well busy so did’nt interrupt.
Had to leave before the last race
Again well done
Bloody well done Sean - you’ve earned this
WELL DONE SEAN!!!
