Today’s problem, went to go for a run in it this morning , No instruments , no speedo , no tachometer , no petrol gauge ( but the low fuel light is ON , towards the right hand side , but I know the tank is full !!!and the Red warning light at the top of the tachometer is ON
I had a rear view camera fitted yesterday , so my thinking is the fitter may have disturbed something , for all the instruments to be inop today. All the fuses seem to be OK
Take it back to the camera fitters!!!
Dodgy earth connection, perhaps?
Love to but he came to me,& never done an Exige before, the camera / sensors work AOK , so it has to be something really simple…as you say an iffy earth , but where , I struggle with anything more complicated than a 3 pin plug as far as electrics ,
Had something similar with my instruments last year although none of the instruments or binnacle lights were working. Removed and refitted all of the fuses under the front cover and it solved the problem.
What does the camera feed images to? If it goes to something dash-mounted then could be the instrument problem is associated with that;
Have you tried disconnecting the battery, waiting the reconnecting? Possibly whilst fitting the camera he’s caused a ‘spike’ that has knocked out the instruments, needing a reset?
Why a camera anyway? I find mirrors useful items for rear view…
What rear view camera did you go for? I’d be interested to know the details and see some pics if you don’t mind, as my better half wants one fitted to her car.
A different fitter might be an idea though by the sounds of it!
From my admittedly very limited understanding the dash works on a canbus signal which after just fitting a parrot kit in the van seems to be a signal within a signal.
My van stereo for example has no switch live to power up it just gets a canbus signal telling it to do so, meaning I had to pull a switch live from my lighter socket to the parrot kit.
What I am getting at is where has he pulled his feeds from… As the fuel light is on the dash has power but if he has chopped the cable to feed the camera is it possible that would kill the canbus signal from the ecu to the dash?

The camera feeds into a VDU clamped over the rear view mirror ( why that’s there God knows!)
I’ll try the battery disconnection thing
I got a camera and sensors , because I Hillclimb the car , and I can’t reverse into the narrow pit garages at Shelsley Walsh , which were built to hold cars in the 1930 's . I almost struggle to get the car in them if I drive in front forwards, which Is frowned upon by the organisers at a meeting , as it’s an open paddock for the paying public to wander round.

Yes he certainly is !!!
I went for Dolphin sensors and camera , after reading an article in the Sunday Times

All of the above could be totall bollox.
Boothy , thanks I think !! a bit to technical for me !!! I’m trying the battery disconnect
Canbus (for a vehicle) is a system that allows the various ECU’s to work together & communicate without needing a central ‘brain’ to coordinate it all.
Theoretically that means each is autonomous but they can avoid conflicts.
Yes, know the place quite well…here’s an old family pic:
