, i bought a 04 exige but have no wheel key to remove the wheels,i looked around the car but can not find it, how can i get one, thanks
The bolts Lotus use for the wheel have a star shaped adapter that should be in the small tool kit in the boot. If it’s not there then your local dealer will have them in stock.
P.s it is different design to torx bits… so you need a dealer.
The tool lotus use is made of cheese and I have sheared the top off many of them. My advise would be to change the bolts out for standard 17mm type bolts (vx220 bolts do the job)

I dont know if the exige is the same as the elise, but mine was stashed on the little shelf behind the seats.
Mine was in the side of the battery cover, after a service, it had always been in the pack velcro’d to the floor before that.
i know what ur saying about the star shaped studs, and their are three of them on each wheel, but its the forth stud they lock nut or security nut that i am missing,in ireland their is no lotus dealer. would i be best try and get it off myself,and fit new studs

You could try one of those removal kits but as the bolts are quite recessed into the wheels the ones that go round the outside of the nut will be tricky/impossible and the nuts can have a habit of tightening themselves so the drill/easi-out option may leave you with a broken easi-out inside the bolt.
The easiest option if no lotus dealers in ireland is to phone a uk dealer or the factory with your reg/build number thing above the barcode on the chassis next to the seat. They will then dig out the original build sheet of the car from the archives and be able to sell you the proper tool for your car. This will probably take a week or two (and assumes the build sheets correct and no ones changed the locking nuts!).
