Looking for a S2 Exige

Hi, this is my first post though I’ve been a lurker for quite some time.

I’m looking to change to a S2 Exige (rather than an Elise, for many, many reasons) and will be using it mainly for trackdays and B road blasts. Having done some reading, I think the newer 240bhp cars are the ones I’d like to go for. I appreciate they are not as light as the older ones but would still be a lot lighter than what I’m driving these days.

I have scanned PH for the ones on sale and wondered if anyone knew anything about these cars as well as the dealers? Also, why are the first 2 “new” cars being sold at significant discounts?

Car 1
Car 2
Car 3

Any other ideas or input is appreciated. Please feel free to pm me if you do not want to discuss things on the forum. Thanks for your help. :smiley:

Edited to add:
What modifications might I need (apart from pads/ fluid/ harnesses) to track them?

Hi & welcome.

I bought a S2 218bhp Exige with 500 miles on the clock back in 2007 that had the following spec;

Performance pack adjustable Bilstein dampers (with remote canisters on the front) springs, adjustable anti roll bar & super light wheels

Sports pack Probax seats, FIA approved roll over bar

So thinking I had a pre-prepped track day car, I soon found it rolled too much and the brakes would start to fade after 6 or 7 laps. So I started down the slope of modifications;

Nitron dampers and Eibach springs
Harnesses
SBS brake pads
Better brake fluid
Geo
Uprated engine mounts
Uprated clutch & plate
Stiffer Eibach springs
Geo
Etc
Etc

At this point I had a car that was great for what I wanted on track and the odd sprint but was a pain (literally), to drive on the road.

Having owned an Elise you will know the cars etc and what you want out of them.

I did not when I bought my S2 and lost a significant amount of money when I sold it to fund my S1. Saying that, I did have 18000 of the best miles of my life in the car.

With the relatively cheap out of the box power upgrades available for the S2 now available and if you are planning to keep it for a while, youll have great fun.

The first one is reduced probably because it is not a 2010MY car. Not sure about the 2nd one though

I would go for the black one if it was my money, however if you want to track it and use harnesses (highly recomend them) then you have to have seats with holes in, if not replacements can be very expensive :frowning:

Thanks for your replies. I’ve just come across this and it seems closer to track ready (Sport pack). Is this is a better car to go for (despite the colour) given the spec?

A N other

A whole lot of car for a whole lot of money - 38K :astonished:

I would ring the other and check out the seats as well, looks like a nice car the green one though, your choice at the end of the day, you will not be dissapointed with anyone you buy if you choose it :wink:

Loving Car 3 :sunglasses:
