I’m in the market for a full scoop roof, at a realistic price - has anyone had experience of buying/fitting one of these and what’s the fit like? & how much are the seals?
thanks
Theres one for sale on SELOC at the mo.
bit expensive I think though
Think he wants one at a realistic price. I am amazed at the price people want for stuff on SELOC. They almost expect to get full retail price (especially when you knock off the 20% dreaded).
EDIT: Too slow!!!
Yeah, its a tough call, but I have a general rule of thumb that the best price you can reasonably expect to get for used ‘parts’ is 50% of new, so technically its about right - by my logic at least!
Thanks guys I’ll have a look at this one, has anyone had one from Junks? or the guy making them in Cornwall?
dave at seriously had a factory oem long roof not so long back for sale for 750 quid i think… has it sold ?
recently fitted a carbon one, probably doesn’t count as particularly reasonably priced, but I can confirm that they are easy to fit even for a muppet with a spanner such as myself…
Hmmm 1500.00 does seem a bit on the expensive side, s/hand and unless your car is black it will still need painting!
But i assume it will have all the seals, half of which will be damaged if the roof is repainted properly.
Yes I still have a new unpainted 260 cup large scoop roof.
In factory primer without seals…
I had one from the guy in Cornwall. It was a single skin one without brackets. It’s excellent value but needs some work to fabricate robust brackets, I used windscreen bond to fit some steel brackets to it. I thought the moulding was a little bit short in length compared to my OEM roof but it looked ok on the car. The other downside is the lack of window seals be prepared for wet pants.
