Long journey

Hi all,

Took delivery of my 05’ Exige in Chrome Orange yesterday, havent stopped smiling since! Fabulous car, the Lotus exhaust sounds terrific and it drives superbly, adnd Im now a proud member of what seems to be a very helpful and friendly community

The only niggle that I have is that both me and my girlfriend decided we had to stop after an hour or so cos we had such pain in our lower backs! We got out for a bit of a stretch and were ok for a bit again until it set in again. Was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this or its my 24yr old body falling apart on me?! Being young and fit I was quite surprised really. Got to do 200 odd miles from Loughborough to Newcastle tonight so was looking for a quick fix! Any suggestions or is it just a case of getting used to the Probax seats?!

Try adjusting the lumbar support (driver seat only!). There’s a small pump down between the right hand side of the seat and the sill, assuming standard seats of course.
Or get a new back.

Hello mate,

We are having an informal Exige/340 gathering on Sunday in Newcastle if you fancy joining us?

Send me a pm for more details.

Have a safe trip.

Aagh, the memories…

Same for you, eh, Ronin?

I thought the seats were nice

have traveled to a track day, spent all day in the car and then driven home again

no problems.

you are not suppose to feel the lumber support so you might have pumped it up to much.

Didnt even realise there was a lumbar support to be honest…not had much time to have a play yet. Will have a look after work today

I didn’t think the new probax seats had the lumber pump.

There was a post a few months back, a bloke cut some foam to make his probax seats for comfortable.

Same as MrD06, have spent all day in the car. Driven to Track, spent all day bating round and driven home in Bad traffic with no probs. I find the seats very comfy. Must be all my internal padding !!

So Jonamacg83 answer is you and your girl friend have to eat more ! That should do the trick (maybe esaier to just adjust the lumber support)

May try the foam option if I do not have a lumbar support as I suspect, as I think the suggestions about extra padding helping is certainly true. My 18 stone housemate shoehorned himself into the passenger seat yesterday and remarked how comfortable it was…then proceeded to not be able to get out. At all.

i took my '05 exige to the south of italy back in aug. clocked up 3500 miles in 8 days and was really comfortable… only thing i would of done differently is make sure the air con was working properly before i left as it was 'kin hot

Welcome

If you have an 05 car then you don’t have the Probax seats.

Do you have a sport or touring pack on the car, or maybe neither of the two

AFAIK touring & ‘no’ pack options have the lumbar support. I don’t think the sports seats have it though (*the ones with the slots for harness fitting.

Hello and welcome,
I have a 04 Performance Pack Exige with the slotted sports seats which do have lumber support. If your seats do have the lumber support, the advice I was given was to sit in the seat and pump the lumber support up until you can just feel it in your lower back and then let a small amount of air out and that should be about right.
Nice colour by the way.
