Liquid gasket for gPan

Sector 111 recommend Permatex Ultra Grey (# 82194)
Any UK alternatives you’ve found OK?
Thanks

Bumped because I don’t believe JSR has fitted everyone’s gPan or Morosso.
Someone must get their hands dirty on this site?

did it April/May last year pretty easy job once you get the old pan off

Bought a special little tool that made teh removal much easier

Got a nearly full tube of the gasket seal somewhere as the fitting doesnt need a great deal. Had a quick rummage in the garage but cant find it but will dig it out and let you know what it is

where are you located 661 ?? happy to offer my services to help remove/fit and supply the gasket sealer
Think the JSR boys have just fitted Jonny Fox’s ??

Yep had planned to diy but ran out of time with pending other work. I have Jonny B’s tool and Jonny B I have yer lube…you left it here last time you visited

I was planning to give back next time we meet, probably Snet btw  Oh and maybe Brands

edit to say I’ll sort any postage requirements let know

Have tried a couple of sealants on the sumps, both moroso and g-pan. The best one that was oil tight, easy to clean off and not super splodgy was the OE toyota one. But something like 45 a tube and you only really need half.

But less frustrating than taking it off again to reseal with it later on.

Thanks Guys,
Balboa, I’m in Eastbourne. It’s kind of you to lube me up, but I have more interest in your ‘special tool’.
I’ve seen a picture of it,my it’s a handsome beast, but couldn’t see any ads on e bay or google. Where did you get it?

Graeme

this sounds like a thread for the Big Fox! LOL

I have a jiffy waiting…or I’ll come in a jiffy Greame lol I’ll text Jonny B now …please pm address?

You can use the Toyota sealent or Honda Bond… remember you need to wait for the sealent to cure so it’s best to let it set overnite before filling with oil and you will have a dry pan, rush it and you will go nuts with leaks…

Graeme

Happy for Jonny F to send you my tool and lube, but please return when finished with

cheers

Jon

PM address please

So whats better a Moroso or Gpan? I do realise you ned to go FLAT before needing one.

Has the Gpan got a steel insert for the sump plug thread ?
The Moroso I had didn’t and was the reason I ditched it …
The thread failed after 3 oil drains …

Thanks Blokes,
Got impatient.
Once I got the 1"putty knife in , which took some effort, it moved around fairly easily and took about 10minutes to get the sump off.
I’ve found a supplier in the UK for the recommended (by gPan) gasket, so that should arrive next week.
Toyota wanted 60 for a tube of gasket sealant, although they do say it will do a few cars. As I only hope to do this once that didn’y seem like a good economy.
Frank, thanks for the advice. I understand your feeling on Sector 111, but at least they supply a good fitting instruction and they emphasise the curing times.
Thanks again to all.
Just taken the skin off my fingers trying to get the supercharger pulley off. I thought it was the nut that was meant to be difficult. Fabricating a pulley puller out of an old hub puller. More fun tomorrow night.

Keep us informed …
Not much feedback on the Gpan as yet …

Does the GPan fit with the 260 cup chassis stiffener?

I recall someone with a morosso and a 240 wanting to retro fit the 260 shear plate but that it wouldn’t fit. Best thing would be to e mail Sector 111, they would advise on the g Pan fit (which is slightly different).

Thanks, I will, I don’t want to get a G Pan only to find it won’t fit due to my sheer panel

Ade

Got gpan fitted and as part of prep for this years race season John at JS has recommened and got me the 260 cup chassis stiffener. At first glance/try i.e lie under the car to see where it fits looks like it fouls on the gpan if you go with locating using the left hand holes as per the Lotus instructions, but does look possible to fit if you move it to the right a bit.
Hope to have it up on the ramps at JSR next week for a better look and play with the fitment, will let you know

Jon

Ceers let me know, I don’t want to buy to find it doesn’t fit
