LinkUP HondaElise take first win and lap record

What a weekend! Our car made it’s debut in the Australian GT Championship last weekend alongside regular competitor Peter Lucas. I was not able to be there for the whole weekend so we put Scott Bargwanna in the drivers seat.

After a disastrous start for us with Scott having a off at 250km/h on the first lap on P2 and hitting the tyre wall, the boys did a miraculous job with the race tape and stole the splitter off my Exige and got Scott out for Qualifying.

We qualified 5th with Peter Lucas in 2nd.

Just bear in mind that these are full FIA GT3 spec Lambos and Aston we have running here. The organisers graciously let us run because the like us.

Race 1 was an absolute blinder for Peter Lucas. He not only won the race but took the sports car lap record at Eastern Creek has stood for 4 years and was set in a Diablo GTR. This was a stunning result and really well deserved for Peter. His team have put a lot of time into developing the car and Peter has really matured as a driver.

Race 2 and 3 Peter finished 2nd behind the Aston to give him 2nd place on the podium.

We had a mixed weekend with silly things costing us places in the race but overall I am very happy with the cars performance.

Huge thank you in no particular order to:

Simon Scuffham for his unending dedication to making the Lotus Elise a faster and more reliable package. Both cars use Simon’s Honda conversion with the supercharger and intercooler and as you can see they are very fast!!

Jeff Kimmings for constantly developing and improving Peter’s car to the fast package it is today. Also thanks for looking after our car on the weekend.

Garth, Daz, Phil, Ash and the crew for making sure both cars are always ready to race in top shape despite the drivers attempts to break them.

Peter Lucas for maturing into a world class driver, and I mean that!

Scott Bargwanna for driving my car hard and fast all weekend and bringing it home mostly in one piece.

Geary and Joy Powell for supplying us with the best parts in record time.

Well done all. I am one very proud Lotus owner/fanatic. :beer

Hope somone out there finds this interesting/useful.

Awesome result Dave I just wish BGT were similarly enlightened…

Well done

Lucky they had blue tape, what a great repair it hardly notices
Which charge cooler kit are you using? Any pictures?

Fantastic results Dave! Do you think the organisers are likely to let you enter any more rounds?

Yes. GT Management love us. The cars add to the excitement and create great racing. The Honda Powered MS Elise is written into the category eligibility list.

It’s the new link-up chargecooler. I’ve just had one fitted and it makes a significant difference.
