I have a feeling the baffles in my 8" 2Bular GT3 have blown. The noise/pitch from the exhaust has changed from 6k rpm upwards (its starting to scream like my old Larini).
How long should a typical exhaust and sports cat last? The 2Bular has done 25k miles and the sports cat has done 45k miles. My old Larini did 20k miles before it was swapped for 2Bular and that seems to be OK.
Any simple tests you can do to figure out whether the exhaust & sports cat need replacing?
Do you have the uprated engine mount bushes?
The excissive movement on the standerd setup can can cause pemature damege to your exhaust, I’m not sure what the life expectancy is on a 2bular but I’d have thought it should more than 25k 
I did wonder about the engine mounts and maybe the manifold cracking…I have stock engine mounts.
I broke the welded joint where the pipe leaves the sport cat and it just seemed to be a bit noisier like you are describing, so certainly worth a check, my GT3 is still going but has only done about 12k miles but probably 3k miles is track use. I would expect it to last well as Jim only uses the best wadding in the silencers.
I thought Jim said the packing never blows out of his exhausts!

Repackable silensors are sooooo the way forward. In my experiance all exhaust silensors slowly loose the packing over time.
Some cars are worse than others, The supercharged cars both Honda and Toyota are the worst, we were having to replace the packing in a SC Honda race car we were running after every 3 or 4 events.
No problem with a repackable silensor, half an hour and �20 of packing later, job jobbed!!

Send it back, I’ll have a look/fix it if it’s fooked. �20 worth of packing on a supercharged install should last a trackday Sean? Re-packing is an onerous task and I’ve never seen a “civvie” do it right yet.
