LHD TO RHD CONVERSION WHO DID IT?

Hi

I don’t mind driving a RHD car on the continent but my wife does.

I need her approval for buying new toys

At the moment there is one Exige S1 for sale locally. In the UK I have more choice but these are obvious RHD.

Therefore who followed this route and did the conversion?
Any idea of the price for this conversion?

Regards

Q.

let me know once you find the answer!

Im looking to convert mine from RHD to LHD!!

Quick search on google turned up the following:

http://www.lotus-cars.eu/modifications/conversion-rhd-lhd

Seems 4000 Euros is the going rate.

“Elise RHD to LHD” was the search.

Call John at JSRacing. He has been asked several times to quote on this conversion and it was very reasonable from what I remember.

His mobile number is: 07720 398699

He is away in France at the moment, so best to call him from Sunday onwards.

hi

i have started converting my elise s1.
the cost of parts is 2500 euro from elise-shop
if you have a good workshop and know how to weld and paint,
then the most of the parts can be reused. i have only change d the stearingrack, other parts have been cut and reweld, after that they have been repainted,

its alot of work, and the pedalbox is hell,

I have done it a few times. It is fairly easy job.
Where about are you based?

I have done it on my Exige, i did it at a Lotus specialist in Greece where i live. The modification was very straightforward, as the same chassis is used for LHD and RHD so its all about purchasung the LHD parts, removing the Rhd and then bolting the new parts along with the ones that can be re used.
Everything was done carefully and there are no rattles of any kind, i can say that it might be even better than before.
Also, as i had to replace the steering rack, i purchased a quick rack which was a nice upgrade…
Well worth it if you consider that an Exige at the same specifications in Greece costs 68000 GBP (Not an S!!).

I’m not changing mine. I got used to it. Only the toll stations or taking a ticket at the parking places is a pain.

In Holland vanSten does the conversion

from 3.950,- using second hand parts (S1)
from 4.800,- using new parts (S1)
from 6.000,- using new parts (S2)
DIY from 2.260,-

They say 40 hours of work for the conversion.
