anybody on here had any luck in doing a lhd to rhd conversion? how hard would it be? would it be very expensive? just an idea i have… thanks all
This should be interesting… I would like to do the other way around
So all you two have to do is…
Meet somewhere with a nice big garage.
Swap steering rack, wheel, colomn, complete dash, pedal box… Or at least the chassis holes… Maybe seats or at least seat runners.
Sorted, easy eh?
Or perhaps just swap cars!?!!
Ian
Best look at the parts book, the chassis is different just for starters !
hmmm bugger was just an idea anywho… will have to save some more
Why would you want to make this conversion?
RHD are generally cheaper than LHD, anyway…
What’s that bargain on a LHD? I might be interested, if you’re not.
i was just considering the lhd on ebay with the super charged honda in it its a bit closer than most other ones for sale im in canada at the moment but will be amking a trip to england early feb to make a purchase

oohhh,
Isn’t that the exige from that american conversion? Not very “famous” around this parts.
I could consider the saving to be negated by the costs involved in converting, labour alone would be a fortune, espcially if you have to pay someone to figure it out. Then there are the small parts such as heater and blower unit which are handed, brake lines that need to be replaced with the correct units. It is a painful job that should not be undertaken unless you absolutely have to and have the parts required at hand before you start.
Not worth the effort IMHO
yea im certainly not gonna be bothered with it… was just an idea. anyone know of a bright orange exige that will be for sale in early feb? or any colour for that matter, where are most of the exiges based? as i will only be there for a week and will need to buy one so i should go where they are plentyful…
Thanks

Auto Trader UK - New and Used Cars For Sale take a look at the text on this add. MMMMM… The add says " Power-Assisted Steering, ABS, Central locking, Driver airbag, Electric windows, " I don’t think so
Do they realy know what they are trying to sell.
This one on pistonheads. Used cars for sale | PistonHeads UK
This is a good clean genuine car.
Steve.
But that one surely you could knock them right down, if I had the cash I’d be tempted! Sorry guys, the PAS doesn’t work… And the Leccy windows have been replaced by these manual winders… And look, I can lock up the wheels so the ABS if fooked too…
It’s gonna cost me a right packet to fix you know but I’m willing to “take it off you hands” for say, 14k… It’ll cost me at last that to get the ABS sorted, especially with LOTUS prices!
yea i rather like the look of the one on piston heads but the mileage is pretty high and without a competant lotus dealer within about 400km of home (or at all) i would be pretty worried bout it, looks like a well looked after car mind you…
