Letsla fitting issues

Has anyone fitted a Letsla recently?

I set about fitting mine today, more of a faff than difficult but I’ve come up against a bit of a problem. I cant get any of the forward selected gears 1-3-5 and I think the cable bracket is the problem, or lack of said bracket. I’d seen the kit on the website and it clearly shows a cnc’d alu bracket that the 2 cables are clipped to. My kit didnt come with one and had an additional alu wedge instead. I made the assumption that this was so the standard bracket could be used. Seems I may be wrong and that the new bracket would place the cables a bit further back than the standard one does, allowing the movement needed to get the forward gears.

If anyone has fitted one, especially if they got it from Brooke-Kensington could they confirm if they had the new bracket or not.

I’m going to leave the damn car in bits and drink beer instead.

Cheers

John.

Yes the last 2 that I have fitted had a new cnc’d bracket.

Mine was fitted by Back on track in Guildford.

I heard it was a fiddly job but result was worth it.

I am aware many others have had problems when fitting for the first time.

Should have the new bracket, AFAIK!!

WTF is a Letsla ??? I thought it was a cross bewteen a lotus and a tesla

Glad you asked that first, I have been sat here wondering.

short shift linkage

EFA - it’s for an S2

A better quality linkage from USA. The throw can be adjusted to suit.

Not everyone uses it as a short shifter.

My first setting was too short and I moved it a few notches.

Perfect now.

A waste of money …

Yeah we know you dont like anything to do with changing gear Frank!

Cheers for the sanity check chaps, I’ll give them a call and get that new bracket sent in the new year.

Frank, you may well be right but my thinking is that its got to be worth a try before I drop the box out.

Cheers

John.

sorry Frank have to disagree with you

a nice bit of kit, well engineered and makes a great difference to the shift experinece and feel.(but thats just my opinion)

JP1 yep should have a new ali bracket in the kit.

also check the lenght of the hollow ali rods as on mine they were a bit long and were interfering with getting into 3rd

Most of the guys that track their cars with te lesta setup have all replaced it or modified it so that it would work properly…None of these guys left it in the short throw location…

Same here as far as adjustment.

I got mine direct from Truelo in the USA because his site there was a " Mk2" version, on which he had modified the bracket.

No problems and a great job!!!
