Le Mans on TV

Really enjoyed the coverage on Eurosport HD this week. Looking like I’ll be a couch potato for most of the weekend!

Looking like its going to be quite a race.

Weather looks inetresting - dry for most of the weekend with rain forecast towards the end

Heading out there on saturday morning with some customers so should be a fun weekend (as long as we win !)

Have a great time Con - the Pug v Audi battle should be very interesting, especially at close hand! :sunglasses:

You lucky git

…and yes the coverage is great eh, watching it now.

swap those sky install vans into Peugeot’s Ben and I’m sure we could find a space for you

OK Con, I’ll get straight on it

Someone at Vauxhall must be happy, the number of Vivaros we have running around.

Amazing that nobody was seriously injured - surprising to see so many people the wrong side of the catch fence.

Steve - they were photographers, in their prescribed area - damn lucky though!

The Rockenfeller incident was equally concerning!

The in-built safety of the cars is absolutely remarkable.

D,ya reckon he,d have made the corner anyway? Given the speed and line ?

what a fantastic race - even a Lotus finished!!!

Awesome race… to be honest it’s the first time I’ve watched quite a bit of the coverage.

Must try and go next year…

Fantastic coverage from Eurosport one of the best races I have seen.
The first time for 10 years I have had to watch it from home. I will be booking up for the classic next year cannot make the normal one as my son has exams now.

I want to do some laps of the track before the race who are the best group to go with?

You will need to join Club Lotus (or a club affiliated to Club Lotus France). TBH it’s really a complete waste of time & money (sorry). You get 3 laps ie one out, one round & one back in, in a group of about 150 cars behind a pace car. They have umpteen groups doing this, in designated time slots, so it takes a an hour or two to line up off circuit in your group before going out.

It cost 105euros per car when a few of us did this at the Classic in 2006, but at the 24Hrs year it was an eye watering 250euros per car.

Rob - I know they might have been allowed to be there officially but there were too many people allowed to be the wrong side of the catch fence.

Sorry Steve, I don’t understand/agree with that. How many is too many? Perhaps make the catch fence higher, though.

Just got back, another top weekend this time going right down to the wire as you would have seen… plus as Alski stated lotus actually finished, yes!!
Quite a number of S1 and S2’s on the public roads and at classic car show at Saint Saturnin
So highly recommended to those having a think about next year…

It is without any question an event which every European petrolhead should attend, at least once in their life. Non Europeans able/making the effort to travel to Le Mans would certainly not be disappointed!

Not making myself that clear but hopefully this photo helps. I was just questioning whether so many people, irrespective of what they were actually doing should be allowed to put themselves in such a hazardous area. The near forground person appears to be oblivious to the carnage behind them - i think it’s this person that nearly gets hit by the wheel.
