Le Mans -NLC

Anyone else enjoying the 6 hours of “live” practice now on Eurosport?

Flippin wet presently, but forecast to dry over the weekend.

Best motor race in the world - ever!

Hi,

Are you going to LM?

Q.

Just caught E/sport coverage by accident. Great stuff. Does convey atmosphere somehow. But screen timing would be useful.
Looking fwd to weekend of lounging in front of screen.
Wish it was like yesteryear when you cd listen to hourly reports through the night on the BBC Light Programme via the wireless.

No, not this year. We went to the 24hrs each year from 2001 to 2006, but now prefer the “Classic”, which we attended in 2004/06/08.

Will you be going this year? If so, hope you have a fantastic time. :sunglasses:

Steve, I think you can listen to “Radio Le Mans” online, if that’s any use?

Ah, but would it be interspersed with Mat Munroe, & quotes from Arthur Askey just for the old man?

Radio Le Mans on line is a good idea, thanks. But it wouldn’t have the same romance as being huddled under the bedclothes with my transistor

Planning to spend most of the race infront the the TV! The War Dept is really pleased

Rob, don’t know if you’d caught who one of the pilots of #32 is? Mr. Bennet has a drive again!

thommo sounds as old as me!!!
Next it will be chrystal sets…
Bedcloths …Softie…I went one year and slept under a MINI van which we jacked up to make space as 3 of us could not sleep inside the van…happy days GT40 vs Porsche…best finish EVER.

I hadn’t noticed that mate, but it’s always great to see the “Brummie Gorilla” getting a drive  He’s a top bloke (RussT & myself have shared a few laughs with him over the years*)& a bloody good/entertaining driver** too.

*Only time I shut him up (as he gives as good as he gets) was at Autosport Show about 4 years ago. He was stood, posing next to a Zonda with some other blokes, so I went up to him & told him him he’d still never pull even if he had a Zonda!

** eg Seeing him chuck a DB4 about in the AMOC Races, Gerry Marshall stylee.

Hi Mr. Pesky,

Yes I will go in 6- hours time. Unfortunately without my Exiges as it is at Motorsport at the moment.

I have been there 5 times now but not in 2007 and 2008.
I never went to Clasic Le Mans. I hope to attend in the future myself with a Mini Marcos.

I will go to the Goodwood Speed event and the clasic event later this year as well.

Cheers

Quirin

Hi Quirin

Enjoy
