hi all, I’m planning to get a new exhaust from Larini. Anyone any experience with the sport or clubsport system?
The sport system is the correct length of the pipes for the exige, but less noisy (they say). The clubsport system is available only with elise length pipes, so there is some work to be done on that to fit the exige.
I’m doing a trackday or two a year and don’t want to have troubles with a car that is too loud. On the other hand, loud pipes save lives, you know, so can’t be loud enough…
I had the standard exige system – it’s great, good build quality + I swear it sounds better with age.
I’ve never been to a track day so it’s never been on a noise meter.
But you have to tie them down to a build time when you order it.
If you want to hear an exige with a Larini system - go to their web site they have a few video clips.
Yup, got one of those and was well worth the money. Nice deep noise that’s always been under 100dB. Compared to the std exhaust it gave a bit more guts in the mid range. Well made too; quality item.
As to which type, I’m afraid I can’t be much help. It was one of the firt they made specifically for the Exige. Therefore I would doubt is the clubsport from what you say.
What’s the difference between the two? Price, power, etc?
I know you are right - but I get such a kick out of driving the car every day - I don’t need to take it round a track to make me like it more - I know it handles better than anything I have ever driven before, or ever likely to drive in the future. I know it’s got so much more in reserve than I have yet seen. If I need an extra thrill I take it through the twisty lanes of north hampshire and then take my other toy into the sky.
I like life!!
Must be the sport then, as that’s the one they make with the correct pipe length for the exige. The clubsport is available for elise only (shorter pipes).
