I finaly got mine mounted yesterday, I’m very dissatisfied :
the pipes are not centered (matter of centimeters) and are too short. And the silencer could not fit as is, so the mechanic had to move a thermal protection.
I hesitate between wasting my energy with Larini or sell in on the net and replace it with a 2bular.
We had to use a scaffold pole to centre it, essentially that’s just playing with the mount angles though. If it’s too short that could be because you have the Elise and not Exige version (which is longer). The Elise one only just comes out the back of an Exige. The Exige one could be longer but I haven’t really had much discolouring on the bodywork below it due to that.
I love mine. A great compromise between sound, noise level, power and longevity.

I order an Exige exhaust not Elise. Here is a pic :
and another one :
You mention the pole, you mean you put it inside a pipe and try to bend the exhaust to the right position ?
thanks for advicing though
Mine’s longer than that, will look for a pic. Can it not be extended via bending the mounts?
But yes, pole down the pipe (so to speak). The left (looking from the back) is probably the stronger as it’s not the welded on one (if that makes sense).
When I first bolted mine in it did’nt line up properly because the exhaust weight made it drop which affected the tailpipe position. After I pushed the system up towards the car before bolting up the joints it lines up fine.
One guy support the tailpipes/exhaust as the other one removes both exhaust mounts from the chassis.
IF, and it could be a big if, you can position the tips in the centre of the clam with enough extension to clear it, the other guy checks where the hanger rods are in relation to the exhaust mount bolt holes. Rods are 10mm round bar and a clout with a wooden mallet will move them, so try and get them to line up transversely with the mount positions.
You’ll probably find there’s a height difference too and you can accommodate that by spacing the mounts with washers to suit.
If you can’t place the tips in the clam outlet properly, you’ll have to disconnect the system from the Cat pipe. Again, place the tips where you want them and look at the position of the 3-bolt flange in relation to its neighbour on the Cat/De-Cat pipe.
HTH!
Late update around my exhaust fitting problem:
Larini took the exhaust back, modified it to be able to adjust at two places: first curved pipe after the catalyst and the dual pipe are adjustable as well, and slightly longer.
Nice work, fits perfectly, they recovered well from the initial issue.
