Mission accomplished!
Rolled across the line in John O’Groats an hour or so ago after 1,003miles and 43,000ft of climbing.
Many thanks again to those who donated cash to Parkinson UK even before my mate Wayne and I had covered 10 miles, let alone 1,000. Thanks, also to those who backed us during the journey and to anyone who waited to see the outcome, any contribution would be greatly appreciated as it would be nice to crack the £1,000 mark - thus dohnling our original target.
Not a bad way to spend a fortnight. Only had one wet and miserable day although the forecast for today was grim, it turned out dry with a bit of a headwind at times.
Had hoped to shed the slight paunch (not so slight, according to Mrs T) but had some good food and drink along the way which may account for my figure remaining the same.
And judging by some of the roads today, the Nothern 500 is a must.
And, finally, Volvo drivers get the trophy for being the most impatient, pipping BMW pedallers. BT OpenReach vans were the worst white van offenders while lorry drivers were remarkably patient and considerate.
