KTM Crossbow (NLC)

Just congfigured as basic a jobbie as possible (via KTM website), & it comes to 52762

A fully kitted out version is a tad over of 80K.

Personally I think they look pig ugly too, although they are indeed beautifully engineered, & have proved to be very quick in Euro GT4 Series this year.

Although they’re not for me (even if I could afford one, which I certainly will never be able to), great to see them being produced, & thumbs up to those buying them.

Sorry for the non Lotus content, just having a Friday ramble

That is serious money though!!
Alex

I think they look fantastic, though a lot bigger than you’d imagine: the top of the rear wing is as high as the roll cage on my R500!

Just had a play and it comes in at 65k with a LSD and a sprinkling of carbon

they are quite heavy too: 845 kg

Cant see why anyone would want one.Agree with you about the looks,Pesky-completely disjointed.

I think I will need to see one in the flesh before passing judgement. I look forward to seeing one at a track day soon.

Being an ex-Caterham owner, I think my ultimate track only car would be a new R500, but all credit to KTM for building it.

Neal.

Looks great in the flesh but not as nice as an Atom!..which you would really, wouldn’t you ?

Interesting that - I think the Crossbow looks worse in the flesh than in pics - extremely well engineered, but just looks wrong to me. I would be totally pissed off if I found an Atom in my garage, as again I just don’t like the look of them.

I do however like the looks of the Caterham (I also love the look of the Morgan Aero models!)

Funny old world, but it’s truely fantastic that we have the opportunity to see/buy different motas, & can have our own personal views on them

PS No personal offence against any owners of KTMs/Atoms meant at all, as I’m not offended when anyone says they wouldn’t be seen dead in my cars (which does happen!)

The looks would have been the last thing on my mind if i was driving the Atom at Oulton in the snow on Tuesday. Bloody british weather.

Twas a bit nippy, wasn’t it!

PS Good to see your missus looking well & “in bloom”

Thanks Uncle P, Looking forward to it now…I think. Hoping it’s not going to affect my 2009 trackday season.

I suppose that depends what you had in mind, in the first place! You’re right though, whilst family will come first, make sure that you get some time to keep your own batteries charged. May be a difficult balancing act, but get it right & everyone will be happy

I must confess that I’m not a fan of the Atom either, it is a car that has never done anything for me.

The original (Caterham) is still the best

Neal.

Just seen an Atom travelling in the opposite direction to me (in the Exige) - I flashed the old headlights, & waved, which was returned

Don’t know who it was (Bolton local?)- sensibly, he was wearing a helmet

I’m not a fan of Atoms at all. I also agree with Pesky that the KTM looks better in pictures than in the flesh. Also not a huge fan of Caterfields.

I guess I am stuck in my ways. lol

Welcome to the Old Farts Club

Been farting a lot lately!!

Would like to drive a KTM before passing judgement but all reports so far are not great. I have driven Andy’s Atom and it is hugely fun and very involving.

So says the man that swapped Cossies for Loti!
