There doesnt seem to be much talk of one of my favorite colours for the S2 exige - krypton green.
Whats the general feeling towards this shade? Have any of you guys gone for it?
It took a while to warm to it’s brightness at first. However, being gradually exposesd to the fine example belonging to evo magazine editor Richard Meaden each month, has prompted me to consider it as an option for when I eventually look for an exige.
So I guess what I’d really like to know is how popular is the colour with you guys? It may give me some indication as to how many will be availiable in future!
Colour is a personal thing…I love the bright colours, but you don’t see many Krypton Green Exiges…plenty of Orange and yellow. So that says two things, either you are individual because of your choice of colour or its a required taste which you will have a bugger to shift on when it’s time yo sell. I had a Lightening Yellow Elise once and everyone said it looked great, but it didn’t sell and the dealer had it in their showroom for 6 months before it sold even though it had low miles and was spotless…you pays your money you take your choice…if its the colour for you do it.
The only krypton car I have seen is the Evo one. I think the colour is good on the S2 but not seeing them gives an indication of how popular they are. I would be worried when it came to selling it on, after all i dont think Richard needs to worry as he just gives the car back to Lotus.
I saw one at the factory on the line after mine. Its a cracking colour and if I hadnt fallen in love with the nightfall blue (now discontinued I understand) Id have had the green and yes, big hairy arseholes to resale concerns.

Be brave go for it!
Richard Meadens is his own car paid for by him and not a Lotus loaner so he will have to sell it himself when the term is up.
I like the Krypton Green and if my Exige was just a summer weekend car then I would have it in that colour. As my car is my only car I went for Magnetic Blue as I would feel a bit of a nob driving around in a luminous green sports car in the middle of winter.
I can understand the whole practical issue of everyday use, with a colour which has been described as making the S2 resemble a ‘tree frog’ by one of the evo team! Afterall, the exige does a fairly good job of standing out in any colour.
I do just think though, that if eveybody bought the colour car (any car) they really liked the most, and worried less about resale /value(understandably important)/unwanted attention/what the neighbours think - then there would be a much wider variety of colours about to brighten up our roads.
And the world would be a happier place…ahhh… (it must be friday!)

There was one on the Lotus stand today at Shelsey, looked absolutely fantastic. The Old English White looked nice as well, but the Krypton Green really has impact. Get one!
