in a nutshell ill keep this brief my mechanic 2day couldnt disarm my key fob as there is a knack
so i think what happened was he took out the batt went got a new one then found that didnt work
i cannot disarm the ommoblilser
i disconnected the batt for bout ten seconds and now the alarm has kicked in so i now gota get that disarmed before the immob
is there anything special you have to do
i have took the batt out of the key fob and tried all the spare keys i have
none work
has he lost the code from the key whilst leaving it disconnected
key worked fine until the numpty messed with it but as i say there was a knack to pressing the fob and finding that little button
Isn’t there a procedure for that in the handbook?
Have a read of that (don’t let you mechanic do it )
ok when i got back from work with some new bateeries for all the key fobs i have got i disconnecteed the bateryy and the alarm went off. then i reconnected the batt and no fob would turn the alarm off
i then shut all doors and the engine cover and the front compartment and locked all doors pressed one of the key fobs and the indicator lights lit up then went out and the red tell tale starting flashing in its normal state so unarmed i put the key in pressed the immob button and the tell tale went out not lit full on but proper out
but this did fire the engine up . turned the car off and tried again and nothing!
so trying to understand whats going wrong
im now not in the alarm state but wont take the imobblilser off
Upgrading the alarm or the whole car?
back to alarm state again now i disconnected the main car batt
and now i cant disarm the alarm state
it cant be the fob as its got new batts in must be the receiver
Which alarm/immobiliser do you have?
Also check the voltage of your car battery. This should be around 13.2-13.5v fully charged.
ok i getin quite fed up of it now if anyone knows the procdeure for stoping it?
if not ineed any help or knowledge of bypassing it
is the best way the eliseparts one has anyone experience of this or any other method
If the immobiliser won’t de-latch then you will need to replace it, or change the whole system.
Fitting a temporary bypass will allow it to start but also means you will be voiding your insurance if you declared an immobiliser was fitted.
but why did it work once yesterday i dsiconnected the main bat for ten mins then reconnected pressed the fob and the indicator lights lit up then key in ad fired up fine
tried it again and now back to problems
As I have said on SELOC, you really need to check that the car battery is okay.
If that is borderline then it might have had enough to fire up that once, but no more.
Low voltage from the car battery can - and does - cause alarm/immobiliser problems.
If the battery is good, ie. >13v after a full charge, then since you have said that both keys don’t work (even with new batteries in them) then the culprit is very possibly the alarm unit.
You have already said you had problems before this, so it seems likely the incipient fault has now become a full-on failure.
battery fully charged alarm still wont disarm
ok so i want to get to the alarm brain and disconnect it
has anyone done this already or know where it its
done a bit of reading and semms it may just be a case of removing the stereo
i got the stereo out and there the little blighter is the little meta box is sitting just behind i have disconnected it and am awaiting whether to take it and get it recoded or someone come out to it
its easy to get out so can do both
