Does anyone know if all K series alloy sumps are the same i.e. will the sump off a 1.4K fit the 1.8

Also can anyone recommend a good sump baffle kit and not the one from elise parts.

Hi tony,

Ealry 1400 and 1600 sumps were tin. Only later ones went to ally, all ally sumps (other than custom sumps like the Caterham one) are essentially the same, there are some amrginal differences in the later 160 sumps but these are minor and focussed around tapped holes to mount the pipes to the oil intercooler.

I have a number of spare sumps here and am in the process of producing a sump baffle kit which is a proper baffle arrangement rather than a windage plate.

Cheers for info Dave, I am basically converting dry sumped engine back to wet sump, so will need sump and pickup pipe. Interested in your baffle kit, any idea on time scales and prices?

Also I will be selling complete dry sump setup (Rover Sports and Racing derived), twin scavenge, if anyone is interested.

Do they come with a oil return pipe. So i can fit a breather system?

I’m not a fan of returning oil from the breather, there is far too much contamination contained within it. However an oil return would normally be plumbed in a little higher, at the ladder level as the return from the turbo is on the turbo engines. The baffle system would be fitted to an otherwise standard sump.
