Hi all,
I am selling my cylinder head. It is a VVC head with solid cam conversion kit and Piper 285H cams. Comes complete with DTH throttle bodies, as used on the VHPD engine, vernier pulleys. Can also give the map for the ecu.
I ran the head on a stock VVC bottom end with Emerald ecu, which produced 182bhp.
Selling as have put a VHPD engine in the car.
I am open to offers, monetary before some people I know start !
Any questions please message or call me.
Know where there are any more VHPD’s Tom?
I think the days of removing VHPDs has gone, unless they have blown up.
My one from roadboy went to build a race engine (or sit in a garage) and I got another - which was an unexpected find at a tuner/builder. That’s the only place one will crop up.
Jon
I know of a couple of bottom ends and a friend has 2 brand new ms2 heads.
I bought mine in a car, not long had a rebuild at Janspeed.
Are you after a spare?
I know someone who is but also I have a VVC engine with Jenvy ITB’s, 2 spare VVC heads and possibly a block I’m looking to swap out for a VHPD head (as a spare). Aren’t the blocks the same Tom or was the VHPD different, I thought it was crank and head? Bare with me I’m new at this
I know the blocks have crude stamp marks which match the stampings on the head. Like you, I think it is only the moving bits that are difference (crank, pistons, rods).
If I hear of a spare I will let you know. At the moment, all the complete ones I know of are in cars and my friend who has the heads etc.
As far as I am aware, the differences in the VHPD to the VVC are tuffrided crank, stronger rods and different pistons (to ensure valve doesn’t meet) and the different cylinder head casting, same internals as VVC head valve size etc but the aperture and ancillaries for the VVC mechanism removed.
Some of the VHPD’s I know of, including mine, have had steel cranks fitted.
Cheers Tom that would be great.
… Some lucky blighter, on another forum got a VHPD off eBay. He went to get a tuned k series and when he saw it discovered it was a VHPD… He paid his money and was off. I think it had been used in an MG of some sort.
