Just messed up my nice car

I must have really woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning…

Just got back from work and decided to have a tinker with my car to sort out this overheating issue I have been having. Started to jack the car up and my phone rings so I answer it whilst still jacking up the car then… BANG. F**KIN jack slips out of position and makes a bloody big hole in the sill. I’m such an idiot. Can’t beleive it.

Randy, bad luck mate If it makes you feel any better,I normally cock up anything I try to improve too I think they call it character building…I call it b****x !

Yeah did the same on mine

So dont feel too bad, sh*t happens!

Randy, bad luck mate, its easy done
Hope its not too painfull to sort out.

Thanks for your kind words guys. I’ve taken a few deep breaths now and figure that it needed the sill resprayed at some stage anyway as it’s covered in stone chips. Just hope I can sort out the cracks witout taking off the sill.

Gutting!

Sorry to hear that.

Ian

Randy, don’t worry too much, these kind of fiberglass damage are easy to repair.
If I was you, I’d find a local fiberglass repairer to do the repair (doh!) only. Boat-makers are the best for this.

Then primer it or get a close enough color repair with Halfords paint.
Structurally good and strong, for when the opportunity comes to do a proper respray.

(I’m doing the same)

Randy, what a bum*er - feel for you at the mo matey. Hope you get it sorted…

I think this sounds like the best plan. The sill is usually an inch think in dirt, grime, tar muck and gravel so I doubt anyone will notice! Thinking about it I have a family friend who runs a boat yard… time to take him out for a beer I think .

Randy

i feel for you mate… i know exactly how you feel as i think this kinda thing happens to most of us who then go round beating ourselves up for a while afterwards… but when you get it sorted out you’ll forget about it… at least you won’t do it again eh… will you ??
