JSR600 Lotus at VMax 200 Black on Saturday 29th June

On saturday 29th June I attended the VMAX 200 Black event at bruntingthorpe.
Lots of fantastic machinery there, but it was the first time I had given the car a
chance to stretch its legs since it was all put back together after the turbo
going at spa last year.

On that note a big thanks to John Shorrocks at JSRacing who spent 2 days last
week taking it all apart and putting it back together in time for the event,
also for attending the event with myself and my wife zoe, who if he had not
been there I think the day would have drawn to a close quite early!!

Anyway after taking it easy for the morning runs hitting 180mph every run, we
decided in the afternoon to go for it a bit more, id been very sympathetic on
the clutch and gearbox in the morning so was slow off the line as I felt no
real need to race as all the work would be done down the Main runway.

So coming to the afternoon I decided to give the anti lag, traction control
and launch control a good going over.

Anyway I wish I had some footage of the off line starts but wifey had camera
set wrong and took one picture and not a video!!

Still, car is like a bullitt off the line with everything on, will definately be using it more in the future.

Still I managed to get 1 good run in before I managed to break the gear
linkage cable and I lost 2nd 4th and 6th gears which brought the day to a
close.

Was a great event and getting the chance to see some other amazing machinery
and go flat out without and fear of a telling off from the police was great.

Unfortunately Lotus’ arent really designed for aerodynamic ability and I think
we will focus a bit more on making the car more slippery for the next time, or
of course we could add a load more power…

Well I better call john and get the ball rolling!!

Enjoy the vid.

Well done, not quite what you were hoping for but really close…

Would have loved to have heard the anti lag start :astonished:

Well done Christian and JSR that really is an amazing result. Maybe you need a ‘JSR600 Longtail’ to go for the 200+

The most amazing thing of course is that the car is not some one-trick pony drag car. It’s a phenomenally capable track car that just happens to be able to put in a respectable result at a VMAX event…awesome machine :sunglasses:

Thanks Ben, We will be back with a bit more,

roof stayed on too! result

ha HA yeah we modded a different roof with a smaller roof scoop. I will take a piccy when I pull the car out of the trailer.

Very cool indeed Christian! John reckons when we both rock up at Hethel, there’s every chance we wont be let in

Well Christian needs to put his name down for the factory visit first,…come on dude sort it out :unamused:

Fair play dude, good result!
