Only on Exiges! Work for ages to get a new product off the ground, and then get loads of abuse!!

In all seriousness, costs all to be finalised when development has been done, and all involved are happy that we have a finished solution. Due back to rollers start of Jan for next step, which should be the last time.

So Chris is saying

All of this based on rough costings is looking like 6-7K with a final possible power figure of between 300 and 350bhp.

\

  1. Uprate gearbox - either Jubu or ‘other’ option…2k
  2. Change manifold - Tubular seems to be the best option…800 quid
  3. Smaller Pulley - not sure on size yet…100 quid
  4. 550 injectors…300 quid

That leaves 3.5 K FOR THE ECU
5) ECU - new JSR sourced Syvec thingy…

I hope your maths is out !!!

i dont know what the final price is for the ECU, but i can tell you now, it in no where near 3.5k. it will probably be less than half that.

Its definatly not going to be 3.5k.

In a couple of weeks we will have a final, definate, comprehensive price of whats is needed and what is included, in regard to maps and stuff.

Don’t forget Chris’ figures include all costs, fitting, VAT, etc, and were ball park, rather then set in stone definative figures, both for price and output.

As I said these were my assumed ballpark figs but I budgeted 3K for the gearbox - that’s 3rd,4th and Final drive.

As John has already said I also included fitting etc into my estimate

John/Sean/Wayne

Seriously lads, well done! :sunglasses:

This is all very interesting.how come JSR never mentioned the Syvecs before??

Fitting the Syvecs into a Yota elise/exige is nothing new - Ive already got one to drop into my car next week. If its truly plug and play, then thats great. But its not exactly hard (if you know what your doing) to wire it in anyway. Besides, the big benefit of the syvecs is the additional features which will require additional sensors anyway.

Curious about the pricing too…the margins in the syvecs are pretty low. The money is made in the mapping (Tdi are doing the mapping for me) and the wiring. If your not doing the mapping yourselves, then you must be charging a lot for just a plug to make it worthwhile to yoursleves.

This is the daddy of ecus though, and definitely worth the upgrade.

The pricing WILL be spot on, I’m 100% sure, & will be fair all round. It’s important that JSR make a decent profit, so they can re-invest, & of course continue to provide the fantastic/highly knowledgeable/enthusiastic service that we’ve all come to expect from them.

We hadn’t mentioned anything about which ECU, as the last one didn’t work out as planned. This has been a long time in development to get to the point where we are happy to say that the car runs and does as should.

As said, lets get it sorted so we’re happy with it, tell you how much it is and then you can all argue about pricing!

is it fly by wire?

Syvecs is

Yep.

Jon , get one up and running with a 2.8 and you can use mine as a benchmark if you like … would be an interesting comparison .
