Johnny... how to lose weight fast?

Just had my S2 Elise weighed (more of why later!) and was not too impressed with the lardyness…

827 KG with 3/4 tank of fuel! Even the book says ‘only’ 811 KG!

So… up for a quick crash ‘WeightWatchers’ diet for the car before next weekend… want to look ‘good on the beach’!

Any (sensible!!) suggestions please?

Cheers. Pete.

Out of interest, is your car the k series or toyota type ? I have the a 2001 k series s2 and they are supposed to be in the 700s kg range.

‘K’!!!

Thats what has got me!!! But even the Handbook says over 800!

is it a 111S ?

Remove roof?

Ha!!!

The roof is actually quite light!.. 5kg ish…

I know Johnny took out loads of sound deadening… ths 111’s ‘touring’ has quite a lot of this!

Follow what I do …

Take a trip to India, ignore your instinct, listen to your colleagues and drink local water and eat food from roadside cafe … easy to loose a few kilo that way :astonished:
Follow what I do BEFORE A TRACK DAY …

Take a trip to BANGOR, ignore your instinct, listen to your colleagues and drink local BEER and eat food from THE LOCAL CURRY HOUSE… easy to loose a few kilo that way :astonished:
Edited!

Sound proofing, carpets, passenger seat? Arch liners, engine bay liners, roof lining(?). Excess interior trim, stereo/speakers.

/ Trying to help but struggling a bit.

Thx…

Yep… there are 4 speakers, lots of carpet and the seats are REALLY heavy!!!

I guess I will just accept that S2’s are a bit lardy!

All the carpets, rear engine lining, plastic thingy behind seats, battery, foam under roll bar, stereo speakers loom, seats, alloys, exhaust, foot rest, seat rails, manifold, go decat, eliminator kit. Not much sound deadning to remove really…oh and loads of sexy Carbon Fibre  splitter, diffuser, rear wing, mirrors, engine lid…seats!

I had the pax seat out the other day and it wasn’t that heavy really, maybe 6-8Kg? I suspect however if you combine the lot you could save 20Kg. Which is just about what I’ve added with JF’s old harness bar and harnesses

/ cheers JF, will be put to good use on Friday

Exhaust and battery are two very easy areas to loose a chunk of weight.

Long time since I’ve used harnesses and was very impressed with how well they “fit” the seat and me. I used the MSAR kit to retain the inertia belts and that works really well with the harnesses tucked behind the seat for road use.

Looking forward to the weekend now.

i have managed to lose 25kg from my body since buying the exige…definately the cheapest way.
