Jobs to do in 2013

I want to do one or more of the following to the car this year, if I can get my arse in gear:

New front discs (will soon become a necessity!)
Motorsport ARB
Lightweight flywheel (TRD)
260 upgrade
Pro-alloy intercooler & cold air feed kit

What are your plans???

260 upgrade
Sports cat
Carbon gear knob
Carbon speedo cover.

Bolt my S1 back together

Different dry sump tank design so I don’t have to keep emptying the catch tank after every track session.

Can’t you drain the catch tank back to the dry sump tank?

Need to do
New rear discs, mine appear to have no grooves left :astonished:
sort the occasional sticking clutch (job for JSR)
would like to do
bigger rear discs to 308mm
rose jointed suspension

To actually drive the thing :frowning:

can you not buy a better air oil seperator? Seen some ‘inline’ JIC ones that might do the trick? Or yes put a drain back to the dry sump

drink less
eat less
lose weight
reduce stress levels
lower blood pressure
find work close to home, and

enjoy the car…

Problem I have with the tank is that the mods that were made to get it to fit under the rollbar stay have turned out in practice to be a bad idea. The return feed from the engine is spraying direct into a flat wall instead of swirling round the walls of the tank. So instead of spinning the air our of the oil its actually causing the oil to aspirate up the breather.

A filter might stop it a little, but with the volume of oil not sure it will make much difference. Returning the oil to the tank is a thought, but problem is that its already been turned to a nasty foam, and hence needs even more time to settle.

Given I’ve gone to the trouble of fitting the sump want the job to be done right and hence going to sort out a redesign where the oil and air can separate properly as it swirls round the walls.

I thought my car was nearly ready until i read this topic…
Gearbox out to replace clutch…
Fit charge cooler system
Fit gear box oil cooler
Fit seats, belts and interior door cards
Install gear lever mech and cables
Fit both door windows and mechanisms, along with all the door seals etc
Fit and align form and rear clams alon with all lights etc
Geo
Rolling road /ECU setup
Plus the million little jobs we all forget about.
Then if and its a big if, remove the gearbox again and install the close ratio box that Im having made
Do a few mile to settle it all in
Put on trailer
Travel to Anglsey
Easy peasy, yeah right!!!

One down :sunglasses:
Just got the challenge of fitting it when I get chance.

Have you had the cooler anodised gold to match the pipes.

Silver is a precious enough metal for my liking, so it’ll stay as is

Nothing wrong with mixing Gold & Silver…(or red and green)

Happy Birthday Pete

Cheers Jonny

Red & Green also looks ace

My ‘jobs to do’ is to get out and enjoy the car and maybe a quick blat over to France

I love France… a lot! :sunglasses:
