JDS. Battery clamp

Anybody got a pic?

Which clamp are you looking for? S1 or S2?

What battery does your clamp work with John? I need to buy a new battery and I may try something lighter than the Bosch S4/5 that I currently have. Would be nice to secure it using the original bracket or something you’ve made?

We have used an Odessey PC680 from memory. It’s pretty much the same size as the Red Top 15/25??? The bracket was similar to the ones you can get all over ebay for them, but worked better on an S2 with slightly larger flanges to suit the S2 floor. Haven’t got any left, and there’s a huge MOQ at the laser cutters we used to use.

To fit in the S1 without AC, you need a longer bracket and extended ‘foot’ to hold the base. These are listed on deroure, but not shown, so not sure if it’s both bits or not.

Planning on using Odessey tucked, into the space where the Ac ducting went giving me room for a cut out switch and even space for a tool kit.
Design would be reverse of the OEM item with lugs facing backwards.Need to sort out how to clear terminals for connections . Working on standing batt up unlike Esprit/ johnnyfox laying down set up
Does this make sense?
Again would like a pic if anybody has a similar installation

Clive
Do you mean like this ?
This is one of JDS’s PC680 battery holders … I have a spare one somewhere with a cut down one side ( easy welding job ) as the Lithium battery in the black car was 1mm too damn larger to fit in it …

That looks very neat Andy .i will figure out how it could work n my car.
I do like the lack of clutter in your front end."…so few wires …mine is a cats cradle.
Will pm you when I’ve looked.
Cheers
Clive

Errr, forgot about those!! They were made by Proalloy for us, I’ll bet they would do you one without too much drama.

If it’s an easy enough bracket to attach, I may be interested in one too Clive.

just bolts directly to the rivnuts already in the chassis - no bracket required

Pro Alloy dont offer this one but will make to any design if its a reasonable batch

Price depends on quantity so if anybody is interested let me know …
somehow I dont think this is a runner.
Sounds like tin snips, home made bender and rivets to me …oh and a lot of swearing.

Clive, I can bring my spare one to Anglesey and mybe then its easy to get it dimensioned up and copied ?
Got to say Its not a rocket science type of part … and woould be relative easy to make it …

Then I can steal Clive’s

Sadly I wont be at Anglesey as car is still under reconstruction …I shall just make next year as long as I am not under reconstruction by then… :eh:

I have a choice , Regular batt or Odessey ?
I am not bothered about weight so could make bracket to suit either but re positioned.

This has been discussed endlessly but ??? :unamused:
