I've only f*&%ing bought one!

Hi All,

Posted up here a couple of months back looking for an S1 of specific spec. I’m in New Zealand and there aren’t any in the country, so it’s all been done over the internet and after a rollercoaster ride of dramas and disappointments (don’t ask), I’ve FINALLY sealed the deal on my dream Exige!

I’ve just processed the payment, seller should have his cash by Friday, my agent will be picking up on Sunday afternoon ready for her long boat ride down to NZ.

I’ve bought it off an Exiges.com lurker, and some of you may even know of the car… after all the heartache and difficulty I’ve been through in the past couple of months (and all the dollars lost!), I’m FINALLY seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

YESSSS!

Oh, and for the record, I’ve never even seen an S1 Exige in the flesh before, there ain’t none in this part of the world… are they as bloody sexy as they look in photos!!!

George.

No they look even better

BTW mine is also the only one in the country

You must be nuts buying before you’ve even seen one.

Congratulations. Hope you enjoy it

Congratulations, mate!!! wohoooo an Exige in NZ, fantastic, I imagine how great it will be to drive on the twisty roads down there

‘sexy’ is surely only one of many words to describe it… on this car they got everything right it’s fantastic to come into my garage every morning and have this beauty there. Best car I’ve ever had (fun-wise, not reliability-wise, but hey it’s such a beauty, I forgive her everything)…

Have fun!!!

p.s. and pls post pix as soon as you’ve got her

p.p.s. can you pleas pm me or post here how much the shipping was and with which shipping company you are dealing with? I am also intereste in reports of shipping to NZ, papers to fill in, any problems, and how long it takes… 4-6 weeks?

Hi watched your progress with interest!Congratulations. You’ll love it . . just looking at it will be a thrill.

Cheers guys… pics will follow

Anyone know where I can find in a hurry a set of A048LTS tyres for it? The rears on the car are nearly worn out so since I’ve got a container coming over I may as well get a full set thrown in with it since I’m already paying for the freight. Prefer a new set, or at least new rears, but anything considered.

Already tried Eliseparts but they’ve just sold out their last set a week back and have none due in in the next few weeks

Try Plans Motorsport - give Graham H a shout, they have always come up trumps for me and at a good rate.

Cheers

Mark

I don’t suppose Roland will mind me posting pics up of her now that the deal’s underway… these are the pics I’ve bought it off, so I hope this is what it looks like

Had it given the top-to-toe checkover at a Lotus Main Dealer and it all checks out fine apart from a non-functioning reverse light (which I think I can handle)

A048: http://www.melkus.de in Dresden/Germany or ask any Lotus Dealer in the UK - I got mine within 3 days (shipping UK to Switzerland included…).

btw. change your signature

Cheers, will do. Just e-mailed B&C too, thought they’d be worth a try.

As I said before, looks great and you are definately a more patient person than I am being able to wait till it arrives!!

Looks a nice colour combo & spec

Congrats!

Pretty much I was after… basically an ideal spec

Well done. Looks like agood choice. Ive had mine since 2000
and have never regreted it dispite many problems.

So happy for you George, I know how tricky its been for you and Im sure itll be well worth it.

By the way, any chance of a shot like this one when it arrives :

David, I’m hoping to take the Exige down to the Hawkes bay around Labour weekend and will try to get a shot from there (Te Mata Peak) when it’s done.

The Elise’s new owner also lives in Hawkes Bay, so (if not this time, maybe at Christmas) I’m going to try and get that same shot with my old elise and the Exige

Well, it’s T minus 11 hours and counting until my baby is picked up Got a truck heading up north today to pick it up. It’ll be in storage for a few days before heading on down to Portsmouth to begin her looong trip southward

Proof’s in the pudding lads! Or in this case, on the back of a lowloader.

I’m now officially (well when the paperwork goes through) an Exige owner!!! The fact that my car’s stil 20,000 km away is just a tiny detail (one that’s going to require 6 weeks worth of patience!)

Great stuff

Hey George

Saw your car on the transporter parked up on the Southbound A34 just south of Newbury today -
