…Now I’m 100% sure that an Exige will lap quicker than an Evo VII given both have a “good” driver (i.e. not a numpty that’ll make the most of all the electronics on the Evo)…
Is there any substancial evidence for this?
I was gonna post the Exige vs. the F355 but if there’s anything more appropiate that’d be cool
Alas I do enjoy a bit of Evo bashing, they’re so easy to wind up heh heh heh
I’d say thats definately right. I let a mate drive my car on track and he had only driven on track once before. He was passing everyone, including a couple of STI scoobies on slicks. And my car was 177 spec on Toyo’s.
Look in this weeks Autocar-lap times round Brands Indy.ExigeS2(slower than S1?)56.2.EvoVIII MR FQ-340-56.4-This is an EVO with 340bhp against 189bhp!!!

ditto, When we were all at Donny the other week and I went out with everyone for passenger laps we were overtaking them like they were standing still, You could tell that they were really struggling around the bends compared to the Loti!
In fact we flew past them that quick that I actually thought one Scoob had stopped at the side of the track to watch!
I’ve got an Exige (190 hp) and a slightly modified EVO 6.(c. 315 hp) as to which is quicker round a lap it depends a) on which circuit your talking about and b) which tyres your using.
The Exige (on AO48’S)is 2.5 secs quicker than the EVO round Anglesey with the EVO on standard tyres and about same pace round Oulton agian with EVO on standard tyres.
Put the EVO on slicks and it is definately quicker than the Exige round Oulton by several seconds but maybe about same round Anglesey.
I rekon at Donington the EVO would be the quicker car on similar tyres simply because its a power circuit and the EVO is considerably quicker than the Exige in a straight line.
