I've ditched the IACV... So...

reset your throttle pot calibration.

Hey good to hear from you Phil!

First post this year! Hope you and family are well.

Gonna make Croft (28th April with 20+ other Exiges, see trackday section)?

Ian

Hi Phil

I second all that Ian says

Hiya Phil!

reset your throttle pot calibration.

Done that about 30 times already, every time I adjusted the throttle screw I reset it just to be sure…

But I didn’t want to set the fuel cutoff to much higher than the base TPS signal or it judders when on v light cruise as it keeps cutting off fuel…

And even then it should never affect idle (but always seems to) as it shouldn’t be engaged until it’s above 2000rpm scratches chin

I think my Emerald has gone all stupid! I can’t download maps with the engine running anymore either

I told you… Titans are made to have an IACV.
Put it back!

Reading the above concerning the judder, mine does that as well, it is going in on Tuesday to remap the ecu as it runs far to rich at idle and is a pig on constant light throttle.

Perhaps the IACV is not to blame for this as mine is still in place and it has the same symptoms, although i cannot confirm any of the settings of ecu but will be able to shed some more light on tuesday, i have no inclination to try and set it myself, spring rates and damping keep me busy enough . What does the service manual say you have to doaside from the plumbing when you remove the IACV, there is a section on it in the motorsport or 340R section, will have a read quickly.

Not very much info, they just say not reccomended for road use and that idle speed should be checked to avoid excessive emissions, but i am sure emmissions are the least of your concerns right now.

I have to agree with Uldis and reccomend replacing the unit for road use, the 340r section states that it saves 667g, i think they were clutching at straws for weight saving. When i asked my race mechanic if i should take it off he said that i would really only create idle problems and not benefit much. The only thing i could think would have to be changed is the screw on the throttle bodies for idle, any other changes are going to create problems elsewhere in the map.

Not worth getting new TB’s just to get it to idle, but that might be necessary, as one idle screw cannot adjust itself to all sorts of conditions as the ECU can with the IACV, especially when t they were desgned to use it.

Heh heh, no it’s fine, it’s my spastic ECU!

The fuel cut-off I’ve never been able to get right even with the IACV, it should have nothing to do with it… In fact 100% has nothing to do with it

So it’s just the fuel cutoff getting over active… Bastid thing

But will he let the milkman drive it?

Seriously though, that’s fantastic news Bruno & Renate

By the way Bruno, Mrs Pesky, Pesky Minor & me will be in Les Carroz (near Chamonix)during the first week of August. Any chance we could meet up there, or is it a million miles from your place?

cheers, mates, nice one
Ian, I think you have got a point there
