It’s ( or one ) at Murray Lotus this week apparently ?
Yeah Murray’s have a black one there tomorrow.
Blimey - are they still pedalling that around - we were supposed to have demonstrators in the dealers by now.
I see they have also revised the performamce figs a little, making the car notionally slower.
I was told a couple of weeks ago that JCT600 demo was ‘imminent’

We’ve been told middle to end of February
Boothy, my brother in law Tony went to look at it as well in CN’s, don’t know if you saw him there
Verdict? totally underwhelmed by the interior and not impressed that there was STILL no demonstrator to drive.
They are really not helping themselves to sell it.

I suppose there’s only so many ways you can dress up an S2 interior. The V6 really needed to be a whole new ground up car for me to be interested, although i appreciate it’s only a stop gap for Lotus.
It’ll be interesting to see how many S2 s/c owners would want to trade up

The car is a mule Wes, the interior on the production cars will be trimmed out and use the new higher spec leather and fittings. The one on the mule was just a boggo exige one with the old style leather seats.
I think the idea was just to give people an idea of how the car looks in the plastic and in fairness it looked really good and I was no fan of the pictures.
I agree though that its not the best way to sell a car if someone has no idea that the car on show is just a test mule ( Steph pointed out the scratched paint ).
I see they have lowered the performance figures now.
Where?
The Technical Specification document for the new Exige S has been updated and the performance figures have been slightly revised.
0-60mph has increased from 3.8s to 4.0s and 0-100mph has moved from 7.9s to 8.5s.
Kerb weight is now listed as 1176kg.
Tar, lol I think Muu should buy your dampers btw
Oh is Middo selling some dampers? I’d not picked up on that…
1176kg
My car was last weighed at 922kg with half a tank of fuel, so that makes it 250kg more than mine

Why on this earth would you show a new example , as ‘half a job’? Only Lotus !!!

You are kidding right??? Pretty much every OE has pre prodution models, to check how things work, fit, that people like them. Then you have the first cars down the production line to check that they it works. GM always used to send out PP models to dealers to get them sat in the showrooms while they were ramping up production and suppliers, then take them back when they had sufficient available. To be fair there were normally stickers on them to explain what they are and that specs can change.
The way I see it, Lotus has sent out 1 or 2 cars for ‘preview’ before official demos are available at the dealers. I bet that every dealer was supposed to give lots of feedback to the factory about the fit, feel and finish. Better than waiting even longer for demos to show up surely when its too late??
