It's arrived!

After months – no, years – of agonising, I’ve finally done it.I have bought an Exige. S1, yellow – to match my Elise 111S(still for sale, by the way). Just driven 360 miles home to Lancs from Norfolk, via Donington.(Renault Day, Friday). It’s everything I thought it would be. Fast (undoubtedly), loud (obviously) and real head-turner.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Looks a beaut!

Ian

Thanks! I’m gazing at it now out of the window in the fading sunlight. Boy, does it look good. The problem is I arrived home after my marathon trip (including an overnight stop)with a bad back which I put down to vigorous gardening on Wednesday while Mrs T reckons it’s due to the race seats in the new beast. Nonsense! Pass the Ibuprofen and the G&T . . .

Well done Steve I must be telepathic, cos I sent you a PM earlier today, via Norlog, enquiring as to progress

was this the one on pistonheads?
AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!
i knew it wouldnt last long, damn the time i have to wait…i really wanted this one.

Don’t want to worry you, but the previous owner of my car got rid, citing a bad back!

Congrats. It looks fantastic.

It is the only car to have, in the best colour too.

Congrats

Nice one - was the plate on the car when you bought it?

Steve J: I just missed out on buying yours when it was at Nick Whales. It was there wasn’t it?

Steve G: The plate was on car, yep. Can’t just lay a hand on original number at the minute. Don’t know if it came off another Exige. Do you know it?

Well, if you’re not fast, you’re last

best colour… nice one…

Thanks for your interest, guys(and gals) Just discovered boot leaks while hand washing it, Search on here revealed very little but I seem to remember it was discussed not long ago.Can anyone advise, pls?
Next step is C service and cambelt change.General check over and then . . give it some welly.

Thommo

“Boot” is fine & shouldn’t leak.

However, water will pi$$ through the grill on top of the engine cover

Give me a ring tomorrow, & I’ll give you a pointer - too difficult to explain in writing, after a few scoops!

Check the drain tubing located under the boot lock is still connected. It can come adrift and so water pours directly into the back of the boot.

there are a couple of plugs that might be needed around the bolts for the inner panel - these are held via the gutter and the rain can get thru’ these as well as the proper drain at the apex…

LOL, does any of that make sense ?

I know waht i meen…

Thanks, all. Just need a few hours to get to grips with it all. I found the drain pipe. Seems to be attached but might need tightening up. All water coming in from that area.
