Well after 7 years of Exige S1 ownership, my car is being passed to it’s next owner. I drove it today for the last time before dropping it off for it’s next owner to collect.
Car aside, just wanted to say that I have had the pleasure of meeting some really great people in the Exiges.com community, what a huge range of personalities (some of them even have bright orange cars!).
Some of the exiges.com trackdays are a memory that will probably stay with me forever!
Please do all keep in touch as I will make an effort to come to some of the forthcoming trackdays to keep in touch with you guys.
The exiges.com login is one thing that I will keep!
See you all soon
Giles
P.S - Have just stumbled across a post with a couple of pictures of a Chrome Orange S1, reg X848 ABN. Is this still owned by it’s original owner (his name escapes me as I haven’t seen him for about 7 years - was it Tony?)
We both agreed that your car is going to a “good home”, & I look forward to meeting Pierre next week - although I will see your car again tomorrow when I collect mine from Martin
As you say, we’ve enjoyed a goodly number of exiges.com trackdays (& the odd pint of Guiness too) over the years, & it will be great if you keep in touch via this forum
The orange Exige was originally owned by Lord (Tony) Whitter, who sold it it Russ early last year with only about 7K miles on the clock. Subsequently, Russ sold it our very own “Mr Bean”, who then had 2 Exiges for a while
And I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Excited!!! I have been Dying to post up about it but I wanted to give you the respect of posting up about it yourself first.
Buying a car, especially an icon like this, unseen is extremely nerve wracking and I am grateful to Rob for his advice in particular. It’s been sooo hard not to ring both of you and Martin Edwards everyday with questions and over flowing enthusiasm! Except for Jules car, I don’t think I could have got a better car.
Apart from an unexpected cracked windscreen Martin tells me it’s all I been hoping for!
Looking forward to meeting all of you
Giles - you’re welcome anytime to hop in.
PS. I think I will have the longest drive home of any Exiger thus far - 1790km!!! Martin, please tighten every screw
Nice to see another S1 going to a genuine enthusiast May your ownership be a happy one
That’s quite some drive home you’ve got! Where is it going From/To?
Not QUITE as long as my car’s journey though when I bought it in July/August last year… 17,904km (as the crow flies) but most of that was on the back of a truck or in the belly of a ship
I know that feeling. Other than a quick drive in a large 4x4 round a test track I didn’t drive a car for 8 weeks From Jan to March. It was weird getting back into a car again when I got home. In fact Cadwell last weekend was the 1st time on track in the Exige for almost 8 months, the Exige having been off the road for over 6 of those months as I just wasn’t around!!
So the “sister” car is on its way out of the country as well !! but both with Martin at the moment !! Make sur ethe right one is sent
Hehe, well if you did open the container and found a pristine std 190 you wouldn’t have to worry much - I’m Aussie and the “sister” car will come over at some point too
Must be twins!
Will make for some great photos at Martins at the mo!
