Gents,
After a Derbyshire run with MLOC earlier this year, I decided that enough was enough with the high idle my Exige and I’d get the troublesome induction sorted out. After two incidents of jammed wide open throttle on track days and the 1900rpm idle (I suspected the IACV), I’ve replaced the Token (sorry, Titan) throttle bodies with Jenvey T/Bs and a Autotechnix airbox, and 90mm inlet trumpets.
After lots of porting and fiddling around with various parts, today was the day I attempted a start. Almost 2 months of sitting idle, the key was turned and I was treated (after a bit of tweaking) to a 1000rpm steady idle!!
Words cannot describe the elation and despite having a few more bits to finish off (exhaust tail pipe, air filter bracket, rolling road session) I am pretty much on track for my target of getting to Chatsworth on July 8th.
I just needed to share how pleased I am. A full fitting guide will follow in the near future for other S1 Exige owners thinking of making a similar modification.
Chatsworth is an MLOC gathering (10th Anniversary Bash I believe), with a BBQ too (I think!) with already a pretty impressive qty of Lotus cars attending.
I’d like to have it rolling road tuned at Emerald, it depends on the lead time. I depart these shores for somewhere very hot for the summer…
Simon, if you fancy participating in the Chatsworth House run, just subscribe to MLOC. It costs nowt (as you’re a Yorkshireman I know that’ll appeal!!;-))
Over 60 cars going now…
Hey Sam,
Well they work fine but need setting up. I’m away from home with work at the mo, and when I do get home, there is a family illness that will take all my time, so it may take a while for me to sort the images…rest assured that they will appear!
