Hi all. This is my first post though I have been hanging around a while listening to pesky and the gang. What a good bunch of guys you are.
Next is my story which I feel the need to tell so I bl**dy well will.A couple of years ago I was travelling to the mother in laws up north on the A64 when a Lotus Exige came strolling by me and I was stunned by its looks and from that point on I couldn’t forget the experience. When it came time to change my car I looked at some elises and they didn’t really do it for me and the exige was just that bit more costly, so like a pleb I settled for a Golf GTI which I’d had a few of before and forgot about the Exige.
Now this is the err sad bit you might say but I don’t want any of you feeling too sorry for me because I am now fighting Cancer and have had two serious operations to get on top of it.This is the more intersting bit while recovering from having 60% of my liver removed and both adrenal glands that dam Exige memory came back. So I got myself out of bed and went and bought one. Its been the most amazing experience I feel so much better and after its took me 10 minutes to get in it I never want to get out of it heeeeee.I used to have MGs a few years ago and have worked on many classic cars so I’m really looking forward to getting my strength back so I can change the dam oil at least on the exige. It would also be nice to meet a few of you guys. I live close to Donnington so I suppose that might be a good starting point. Must go got to go and look at my exige out the kitchen window.
Hi Mav & welcome
About to go out for a curry with Mrs Pesky, so I’ll just say, GET YOURSELF TO DONNY ON 7th OCTOBER & meet loads of us there http://www.midenginedsportscars.com/
Echo that Mav. Sorry to hear about your battle with ill health, but the positive attitude that shines through in your post weighs massively in your favour.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the lotus - mine (though only an elise S2) puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel. Nothing like them to make you feel 12 years old.
Enjoy every minute of it and come to some of the meets - Snetterton or Donnington where several of the regular folks will be attending or driving. Hope to see some more posts.
Cheers
Andrew
Welcome Mav,
Look forward to seeing your Exige!
Welcome! You’ve definitely made the right choice!
So sorry to hear of your illness. It’s difficult to know what to say without sounding crass, but suffice it to say I’m sure all the Exiges.com members, including myself, wish you well and that your recovery continues apace.
Hope you get that 10 minute entry time down with practise and improved strength! Every minute spent getting in is a minute of driving wasted
All the best.
Alex.
I can only second all of the above.
When you get your strength back get it on track with the Lotus faithful
Tim.
I used to travel on the A64 evey day to go to work in York, unfortunatley not in the Exige but then there were the occasional visit to Elvington - can you remember what colour it was?
Good luck on the health front and enjoy your car.
welcome to exiges.com

The Big ‘C’ - it’s a real bastard. Been there myself - 4 operations, lots of chemo/radiotherapy and lost a large piece of my bowel , still being monitored but looking good… Keep positive and don’t give up mate - and welcome to Exige ownership.
I was kept out of mine for about 4 months after my biggest op but it was worth the wait - the car never fails to put a grin on your face
Welcome!
Good luck with the treatment!
Here’s an idea, why not try and pop along to Bruntingthorpe tomorrow (Sunday 20th)? They’ll be a few of us there (inc. me if this blooming mobile repair man would sodding turns up and fixes the screw hole in my rear 48! ).
Ian
hey thanx everyone for the words of encouragement. I will definately get to Donington Pesky to watch you race that glow in the dark Exige. With regard to the colour of that Exige on the A64. It came by me at the Pickering turn heading for Scarborough I can’t remember the colour. It was the rear wing that stuck in my mind and how well it sat on the road.83man you must live close to me. I’m in Tamworth Staffordshire and we both have brushed with the big “C” and own an Exige.Amazing. I had 25 doses of radiation on my bowl along with chemo then they removed my ass basically. The op I’m recovering from now was on my liver and they say they got it all out. So I’m now being monitered. I don’t think they actually know whether it will come back or not to be honest.
My exige is a 2004 s2 in magnetic blue
congratulations on buying the exige…hope it cheers you up in your darkest hours.
the big C is rife in my family sadly…i suppose i’m waiting for my turn but fingers crossed it’ll pass me by.
good luck on getting back to full health.
take care
Dean

Look forward to meeting you at Donny - it’s not me who races (too old & slow!!!), but Russ, Azrael, TarmacT, SeanB, Maddog, & Tony Doe (& possibly Quo) who are all expecting to be on the grid
In the meantime, pleased to hear you’re making progress, & that the Exige is playing a part in that respect
Hey Mav
Welcome and glad to hear you’re on the mend, See you at Donny
Welcome matey!! See you at Donno!!
Sad story, but on the positive side you’ve realised a dream. Sometimes it takes a kick in the teeth to find something good in life.
Good luck with your continued recovery and welcome to the world of big kids and fun toys

Hi Mav,
Not that far away, but I’m near to Oxforshire at Kineton about 10 miles south of Warwick.
I wonder if it was my Exige (Lazer Blue S1, owned from 2001)that you saw - a couple of years ago I made the trip to Scraborough to organise a hill climb at Olivers Mount - long shot but you never know!
Welcome Mav,
Nice to hear you are being positive and just getting on with it. Yes, get yourself to Donny mate, you will have a great day!!!
Gav
(bugger that reminds me, must get my entry off for Oulton!!)
Hi Mav, welcome to exige ownership.

Wecome Mav That’s quite some introduction…
Nice to see such a positive attitude, and I’m sure the Exige will help with your recovery
I’m only a few miles away from you (Twycross). Maybe see you around some time?
