Is it ok to use a power hose/ jet washer on the S2

title says it all

To do what exactly? If its just to clean all the winter crap off then ok…good infact. Especially if the car is grimey with abrasive salts etc. Beats rubbing it into the paint by hand .

Just use common sense & make sure you dry the brakes straight after & definitly before you garage the car.

Tim.

How do you dry the brakes ? Not to mention why does one need to dry the brakes on an exige ? I know it’s a “known issue” on Porsche’s. never heard / read about it on Exige’s.

Blowdryer ?
Towel and good old fashion’d rubb’n it ??
I’d assume blowdryer.

I caught myself getting into a ridiculous cycle the other weekend.
Wash Exige with bucket and hose.
Take car on run to dry brakes and clean up the discs.
Get back, car mucky…
Wash car.
Repeat until bored.

So far as the original question goes - I wouldn’t get too close to the paintwork with the pressure washer. I’ve seen them lift paint off before. Not a Lotus, but a painted bumper on a Merc E Class. Quite funny to watch!

I would never use one…nothing wrong with a sponge and a bucket of water. They are just too powerful and if you turn them down to the right pressure, then they are a waste of time.

The best method I find:

Is that why S2 owners have these things ?? and here’s me believing its because they are all hairdressers…

and I thought it was only me who’s that sad

Try not to aim the jet washer at the flimsy rear spoiler… it may blow away

Only way you’ll get downforce on it.
