It windscreen and track day cover now…I hope!!!

Err, I don’t think so, Jamie. I’m about to go with CCI, & it’s either trackday cover or windscreen cover. A no brainer for me - I’m happy to carry the risk of breaking a screen

Rob, I’m pretty sure both windscreen and track days are covered now even if it doesn’t say so on the documents.

Mark A’s post above confirms this doesn’t it?

Jamie

You’ll be correct - sorry for the confusion. My original written quote from CCI was done mid December (so probably Chaucer as underwriter) - they’ve since re-quoted on the phone, & I’ll proceed when I know I’ll be getting me mota back from the Edwards.

All good news anyway - ta

Renewed today with CCI 300 excess for me.

If you ask for a voluntary excess on top of the compulsory one, you can get some nice discounts on the premium - only good if you don’t have a claim in the period though!

One of the advantages of being a 67 year old, disabled War Pensioner.

My insurance with SAGA for a S/C Honda Elise is 420, including full track day cover with a 500 excess.

No as I was talking about Richard Egger not CCI. CCI documents said one or the other.

Is that B [censored] or a fact i tried them and you would have thought i wanted to insure a 747 .Did they know what an elise was?

Do Admiral cover mods too?

They know about my exhaust (Lotus stage 1) and didn’t charge for it as it was an official Lotus item and didn’t improve performance. They obviously aren’t aware of the noise/placebo performance effect!!

Be very careful with companies like Admiral.

They will accept pretty much any mods, and charge you for it, BUT they state in the small print to only pay out to the cost of a standard car, so make sure you read the small print carefully.

(BTW not sure if it was Admiral but it was a few of the large ‘normal’ insurers)

I can confirm that this is the case with Admiral.

Just asked Stephen at Competition Car Insurance, and got a quote of 336 fully comp, including 4 track days AND windscreen cover.

37 years old, 3000miles pa, 3 years no claims.

S1 Exige.

PS. Extra trackdays ove the 4 free, can be bought for at 5 per 1k of car value.

Just got a quote from CCI to insure my car once its converted to sc honda. 3000 miles per year and track day cover will cost me 640. I thought that this was actually a really good price.

CCI have just beat REgger by over 100 on a like for like excess basis (300) for me, with 5 yrs NCD, 49 yrs old, 30k value, trackdays included, windscreen, 30 days EU etc and if I increase the excess, they are almost matching the price I pay for my Audi oil burner!!!
