Insurance

I’m just getting on the road to insuring my Audi-powered Exige wannabe.

Will be a third car, so no NCD of it’s own.

Just left a message at Henderson Taylor (no one was in) and am waiting for Adrian Flux to get back to me with a price.

Assuming CCI is Competition Car Insurance, I’ll be calling them next…

When I got my elise, it was my second car and thus no no-claims, i told CCi that I had full protected cover with my other car and CCi asked for a letter of proof from my other insurance to this effect which I duly provided to which they gave me 4 yrs introductory NCB.

Over 900 does sound a lot for insurance!!

Couple years ago, mine was just under 700 @ 25 (elephant) with 8 years ncb, but they are a bit strange with modifications. Im fortunate that Ive got mine insured through my company under the fleet policy, although trackdays not included!!

Insurance has shot up loads in the last 12 months though. I had a vx220 at 20 and was paying around 900 the g/f (22) has just bought vx220, and pay twice that. Its eye watering how much insurance has gone up!

Interesting Nick - never heard of a “fleet policy” covering modded cars before.

Its blanket cover - as long as the car does not exceed 75k (if i remember correctly)in value, they don’t care what mods are on it as long it is fully subtantiated should a claim be be made. The policy covers all privately owned cars by staff with a small tax for benefit in kind.
