Call me naive if you want but should you miss your renewal date Aviva based policies are likely to sting you.
In my case 15% (equalling £66.66, yes really).
I had held off for a reason, I didn’t want to renew in case the worst happened at Rockingham and I didn’t need the following year’s cover. Then got on a plane and forgot, was only out by a working day or two.
Grrrr, Ian
Bloody hell, nothing like maintaining a positive outlook!!
Yes same has happened to me too…
How naive of you!
Thing I hate even more is that when you get your renewal discount back the following year it’s still against your new increased premium - Double GRRR
I still holding my breath and crossing evertything I dont get fucked by the insurance.
You should try owning a V6 Lotus. I have just extended my annual mileage from 5000 to 8000 for the year, for an extra premium of over £330 quid
When you do the (man) maths it works out ok against the 5000 mile charge when pro-rata’d
Having said all that, the car does have its advantages
Don’t forget too, Tim, that your mota’s value is quite substantial (thanks to the stripes!!!) & if you can insure it for less than a grand, it sounds good to me.
i didn’t even before the 3000 increase
I had exactly the same thing this year with Aviva, I did the same and forgot so it lapsed by a week and the premium went up over £100! then they only wanted to show a maximum five years no claims when I told them I was leaving. Fortunately Matt at HT looked after me on that front so I could get a better deal from Reis and keep my nine years ncd.
Hopefully Matt will be using someone else soon but reis seem pretty good so far.
Just got my renewal from Steve at REIS… £ 360 for 3000 miles
… and agreed value of £67K (S1 of course!)
There you go Pete fixed the value for you…
Are you sure it is that much given the colour
Ade mate, you obviously have S2 BLUES still!!!
Green with S1 ENVY, hey mate, I understand!
Remember, Rich Hermida (S1 Honda), has just got an insurance company to underwrite his brokerage for Lotus insurance. In the middle of dealing with my insurance this year but looking like £80 cheaper than HT

That’s the plan I understand. I think Aviva now hate the under-40s (which I wish was actually an issue for me).
Have filled in form, shall find out…
Have landed with 1Answer. Cheaper than Aviva through HT, agreed higher value, lower excess, 6 TDs, even has a bit of Euro cover.
I’ll be back to try HT’s new underwriter next year but relatively pleased with this.
Right, can fit those new tyres tomorrow now.
