Injectors

With the 2.8" pulley on it’s way, I thought I’d give Wayne a ring a talk about booking in for a map. He suggests 550’s as my 440’s will be “maxed out”.
I seem to recall reading threads where 440’s are retained in those using 2.8 pulleys? Right or wrong?

440’s are at the very limit at 300bhp with the 2.9" pulley - 550’s will be needed for a 2.8" pulley which is probably going to be around 320bhp.

I’d add a new gearbox to the list as well

That being the case, the stock Denso is a nice bit of kit. Do Denso make a 550 or do I have to run with RC’s?( and are they OK?)

I have some new info on that but thought I’d start a different thread when I’ve got a mo!

RCs are shite

I would personally would try the 1000cc injector dynamics - Suppose to be superb. Giving them a go myself over winter.

I am now on my 3rd set of RC and have not had a problem can you be more constructive?
You will need 550cc for over 300hp I started to run them even though I’m still on the 2.9" pulley, just makes the fueling a bit better at the top end.

Denso do 550,s … they are blue, cost 298 and are a direct replacement for oem with the same electrical connector .
Why not use a 2.7 pulley though as you will be sorting the gearbox already?

I’m not a fan of RC injectors either. The spray pattern isnt very good, they are supposed to not atomise as well and I have seen loads of them fail. I would certainly never have an RC injector anywhere near one of my cars.

Those look interesting, do you have a part number?

Of course … it,s on my receipt !

Might hassle you for that later on (depending on funds) when I get the new engine sorted.

Just pm,d ya buddy …

In for a penny…
Densos on their way

When I fitted mine I nicked the black plastic collars which fit over the tips off the old injectors and fitted them on the new ones …
I was assured they are not needed ,but did it anyhow…

Thanks, I’m sure that will become apparent when they arrive.
I’ve just ordered exactly the same part no. as yours Presumably the new ones will just take all the old connections.
I won’t be doing it for a few weeks anyhow as I’ve got a track day early Dec and will fit the exhaust/2.8 pulley/belt/injectors after that. The question is: do I just give the car to Essex to do the jubu gear set as they will have it for the mapping?
I think i’ll speak to Geary again mid Dec and see what’s happening.

Yes they are a direct fit … same connectors …
I’ll be sorting my gearbox hopefully in the spring and may then fit a 2.7 pulley to finish the job.
Let’s hope the Euro gets weaker as we all start buying Jubu gears !
The car becomes a beast with a 2.8 and loads of fuel

I would be interested to know what you know about the conversion…

The honda kit weas put together my Simon Scuffham. It was Simon and Geary that attempted to fit the kit to my car -mine was the first car they attempted to fit it to about 10 months ago now.

These are the guys I use for my Denso injectors…

You don’t want to go too big because it will make partial throttle tuning a little harder, not impossible just harder…

I run 1,000 cc for gas and 850 cc for the alcohol …
