Fantastic race, until this incident on the penultimate lap. Fortunately/amazingly, the driver (a Brit) Mike Conway is okay, apparently only suffering an injured leg:

bloody hell… he is a very lucky lad to survive something like that… just goes to show how safe the cockpit is.
I read somewhere that the injury is a little more nasty than just a break.
The really lucky one is the guy he hit, who had apparently run out of fuel causing the accident and having to coast to a point where he nearly got a flying car IN HIS FACE!
The thing I found distasteful was the coverage that celebrated the end of the race whilst they had no idea if Mike was okay.
I was also surprised that they removed his helmet whilst he was still in the car.
The whole thing made F1 look safe!

True, horrible and always a sobering thought, but in that case they kept the race going to help the injured, young Mr Conway had a helicopter.
