amazing he’s still breathing and driving today , he was awesome at Goodwood revival this year in the GT40.
Its funny because i think the last few seasons of F1 have been much better than it has been for years , just wish they would have just one compound of slicks … oh and V10s
I wonder sometimes why I bother watching F1. I am a BTCC and Moto GP fan and that is where the real racing is.
I do enjoy the tech of F1, but in my opinion the processional problem is such an easy one to fix. Simply knock all of the aero on the head, so the cars can follow each other closely and hey presto, close racing.
If it wasn’t for the likes of SKY and the BBC making such good supporting TV programmes, I think it would die a death.
I don’t mind the different tyre compounds, at least it puts some interest into it.
It is a shame though that all of the overtaking and the interesting bits are manufactured into the sport, rather than being the result of ‘proper’ racing
I now find F1 totally boring , and I would like to stick Vettel’s index finger where the sun doesn’t shine. I agree Moto GP is much more interesting but on Eurosport with Toby Moody & Julian Ryder , NOT the BBC !!
If I were in charge of F1 I’d have:
• Success ballast for the leading two championship contenders - lifted for the last two races.
• Double points in the last race.
• Point for fastest lap
• Standardised brakes, gearbox, ECU and other incidental parts
• As a trade off for above allow more flexibility on engine config
• Allow things like traction control, push to pass, but as an option against lower overall power etc
So glad I posted up my feelings on F1 and delighted it’s provoked such a debate.
I’m fascinated by the cars and I’m with Pesky in finding VSCC, Historics etc more appealing.
V8 Supercars still good value to me, especially at Surfers Paradise.
Used tone an avid viewer of Moto GP but can no long watch as the riders dangle a leg before each country. That simply looks wrong.
British superbikes, World Superbikes far superior.
Can’t agree with that, have too much respect for anyone that can back one of those bikes into a corner, sliding both wheels, at a 60 degree lean angle. Nuts, and they do it lap after lap.
Yes possibly, I seem to recall doing that round. Was that where Gav Kershaw pitched up in that white Cadena car and absolutely demolished everybody there?
Unfortunately Tap in a move quite typical of him deleted the TSU Photo website and therefore the photo record of all those MESC and early LOT rounds…
