Increasing rev limit?

One thing that really bugs me with my car is the 8.5k rev limit. The car pulls hard right up to the limit which is confirmed with the dyno graph - it makes peak power at the rev limit and still climbing quite sharply!

What Id like is for the car to have another 500-1000rpm to allow the power to tail off and make it easier to keep the car at maximum power. Apart from the obvious raising the rev limit, what internals will need to be changed to allow the car to rev a little higher and still be reliable - better valve springs? Con rods? Alternatively, would I be better off with a different cam profile that would be more suited to the SC and give peak power lower down?

You will need at minimum Valves, springs and oil pump, those of the first things to fail whren over rev’d

Cheers Ade, thats what I was thinking - I just don’t know enough about this engine yet.

Curiously as you run the same spec as me, how do you find the the power delivery at the top?

Deep pockets, don’t forget you will also need deep pockets
