Went over to Paul Matty this PM to pick up a bolt…
There in prime position was the PERFECT 4,000 mile S1 Exige in Storm Titanium,
Everything was like new! NO rust on any of the brake disks. Wishbones still gold. Interior not a scratch or footmark. DEspite the standard seats, it looked just brilliant…
25,995. OUCH!.. BUT then I thought a new S2 Exige costs over 35K … and this car was LIKE NEW, PLUS an S1!!!
John came over and we started chatting about it… my mind was racing! So was my heart as I visulised the call to the bank manager… I WANT this car.
Then my heart skipped another beat… as John leant over to the price tag saying ‘Oh, I need to change this’! I thought, GREAT, another 1K off the sticker price!..
then a SOLD sign appeared.
‘Sold it an hour ago’ he said! To a ‘elderly’ couple from Northern Island who bought it over the phone sight unseen!
Driving home, I rationalised that I would quickly put on the miles, mod it etc etc, and it would then be an overpriced Exige… But I am not very rational.
Pete I would have given anything to have been a fly on the wall when you told Lisa you had bought an Exige.
You do like torturing yourself don’t you
Yep… and she has a big fly swatter too!!!
Never mind… I made myself feel better by fiting my new silenced de-cat pipe this afternoon to liberate a few more ponies… you know the one I mean… it only cost twenty quid on sale darling!
Time for a beer mate! What are you doing Thursday evening?
so … any leads ? there’s a lovely blue s1 exige in NI at the moment, also an exige re-body nearing completion and potentially a honda s1 exige re-body about to start in southern ireland.
Looked like a nice car in the right colour… costs a lot of money to get them back in top condition again, so buying the right one is a good move, even if it costs a few thousand more.
Good ones don’t seem to be hanging around, even at prices where people claim the seller’s dreaming. Was a discussion on SELOC the other day where someone claimed that S1 Exiges were making about 16k on average… I’ve not seen one sell that cheap in years.
