Image wheels

A few weeks ago there was some chat about wheel options and how expensive TMR’s are to replace etc, etc. Image wheels were mentioned as being a possible source for something more reasonable.

I was thinking about it yesterday so rang them. Don’t know if anyone else has, but the chap I spoke to said it would be possible although he did mention possibly having to flare out the spoked section to clear aftermarket big brakes. Going by what he said I worked out that for 17" & 16" wheels it would cost 1520 inc. vat and extra for different finishes. However, he did say that there would be some sort of discount for a group buy. This is going by the ‘billet’ prices on their website.

Obviously, this is still lots of money for a set of wheels, but TMR’s are now about 2650 and difficult to get hold of. I also assume that if you damage a three piece wheel there is a good chance of being able to just replace the bent bit and not the whole wheel.

Anyway, I don’t know why I’m thinking about this, because I can’t afford any bits at the moment. Just thought I’d mention it though.

Let me know if you do anything with this. I’m running TMR’s on my Elise Trophy car, and sooner or later I’m going break one!

I’m running the AP/Lotus Motorsport front calipers/discs now though so they’d have to clear those.

In theory a two part wheel is not allowed under the regs but I reckon we could get that changed.

Count me in, Image wheels are great, standard fitment on Radicals and Ultimas, lightweight and beautifully made

Hello Jamwill79

Off topic but i met you at Brands Hatch the other month, hows things, i was down at Hoffmans the other day getting my gear linkage sorted out and notice your car was there(unless there’s another white and black one around), your right our cars look so similar, think yours looks better as white’s hip at the moment ha…very nice.

Yep that’s mine. Can’t wait to get it back, as it’s been there for almost 2 months!!

I’m trying to find a copy of PPC to see the write-up on your car, but no one’s got them around here.
