Anyone experimented with better leads and/or plugs on an S2 ?
Just came across some on DT’s website and wondered if they were worth it ?

There are some upgraded coil packs available as we have no leads and I’m still on the standard plug, I’ve not actually tried anything else as it seems to work fine
coil packs ??? isn’t that a birth control method ???
If anyone has explored these options it would have been you Ade !!!
What’s an upgraded coil pack do then ???
It seems that the insulation breaks down and the standard items arc between the coil; pack and the cylinder head, this causes missfires and other nastys, obviously the more power you run the more the spark is important therefore these issues become worse
Have you changed your’s ???
If so where do you get them from and how muchy ???
TA
Nope so far never had to touch mine, I haven’t even changed the spark plugs yet
Standard plugs and coil packs are fine. The biggest problem with arcing is the spark plug bores filling up with rain or car washing water.

Chris mate!
Coil packs sit on top of and conect directly to each spark plug. The ‘replace’ the ‘old’ system of a single coil with ignition leads running to each plug with a seperate coil per plug. FAR more reliable, FAR bigger spark and because they are now under that nice ‘Lotus Performance’ plastic cover, no water can get into the plug bores!!!
Modern plugs last AGES!!! Some 60K to 80K miles. I think the set-up on our cars regarding this is as good as it gets!!!
I have new plugs for mine, but if it ain’t broken and all that
My ignition misfire turned out to be the slim 12v wires leading to the coil packs getting wet and earthing on the cam cover …
Re routing the wires cured it …
