Hi All,

My S2 NA Exige is having a bit of a disaster when it comes to idling of late. Generally at anything after the first startup it will idle at around 2-2.5k, I can blip the throttle and occasionally it settles back down - but of late it is getting less likely to.

Took apart the IACV and throttle body and cleaned both thoroughly - the IACV wouldn’t turn freely and was quite ‘sticky’ so cleaned this up but it still feels a touch gritty, but turns fine. Not sure how good the servo motor is but I would have though it should cope.

What I struggle with is that it does sometimes settle if I blip the throttle - I wonder if the throttle is sticking open slightly and its snapping shut when I blip, but on all the tests I have done it doesn’t appear to be sticking.

Its approaching 80k miles too…

Any ideas appreciated!

Jonny I had something similar on my car towards the end of last year where my throttle would stick around 2-3k but would return to normal after a blip. It became a big issue at Brands where it would noticeable stick out on circuit, it turned out to be the TPS mate.
